Zach Lowe has Gobert fourth in his DPOY rankings, does that put him in the cult

well to take literalism to a sadistic extreme...the notice of his defensive stats is largely online aside from the errant block or dunk making its way into mainstream highlight reels

which fwiw is fine, it's mostly amusing that the hint of a slight on gobert had such a predictable result

shotblocking defensive specialist centers don't make highlight reels, it's true, they win DPOY a lot tho

being well rounded ain't all that. Shaq wasn't well rounded on offense or defense and he was pretty good.

you asked me to support an initial point (gobert's attention mostly being internet hoops lovers like us) and I did, I then added a qualifier saying that such a thing was not inherently bad by any means, I just am not as impressed by his shit as many seem to be & you are either deliberately ignoring that or trolling

I'm pretty conflicted about ROY because Noel, Wiggins and Mirotic were in very different situations and all three have warts. I honestly don't know who was the best per se.

Exec of the year is probably Ainge, unless you think it's an award that should be for years of work.

i'd lean toward most exciting rookie and most likely to develop into a star and those are both wiggins for me

It's pretty crazy how good mirotic was without shooting well, he might be the best player on the Bulls in 2 years.

The real difference: Green did not receive a vote on 42 ballots. Leonard was left off 26 ballots

its weird there was like almost no buzz for any dpoy candidate this year, kawhi kinda won by default

well i meant other than those guys. in 5 years we'll probably look back and see him as a pretty uninspired choice. it's just dumb that there are probably 5 more forwards who deserve this recognition before DAJ or any other center
