its... not enough

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 15:47 (eleven years ago)

he's not "bad". he's a defensive specialist, and a really good one (look at his numbers). he fits in fine on a team that doesn't need offense from him

k3vin k., Friday, 10 April 2015 16:14 (eleven years ago)

a team built like the hawks can probably less afford to lose role players than others

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 April 2015 16:16 (eleven years ago)

hes "bad" at "basketball" being a perimeter defensive specialist is just not enough, there is literally in which its fine to get nothing from one of yr players on offense

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:17 (eleven years ago)

-no situation-

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:22 (eleven years ago)

it's not like he's a liability on offense. the hawks will be fine. prob play a lot more teague and schroeder together.

Heez, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:28 (eleven years ago)

i think zach lowe tweeted something like this will hurt the hawks if they end up playing the cavs because demarre is the only wing stopper now but i only see thabo coming into play in like severe end of game scenarios where every possession is followed by a timeout

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 April 2015 16:28 (eleven years ago)

he is absolutely a liability on offense

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:32 (eleven years ago)

not really in the hawks lineup. he was doing a good job of slashing and playing within the offense. he started out the season missing like all his 3s but got better as he went. anyway i said he's not a HUGE liability.

maybe i should be but i'm not that worried about the cavs

Heez, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:36 (eleven years ago)

he literally cant shoot cant dribble cant finsh

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:40 (eleven years ago)

xp i would say maybe be a bit more worried, but most likely that series goes 7 games either way, wouldnt expect a sweep or a 5-gamer by either team

slothroprhymes, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:41 (eleven years ago)

hawks get em in 6

Heez, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:42 (eleven years ago)

key to the series is hawks mindfucking kyrie into making bad decisions

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:44 (eleven years ago)

thabo is 100% a liability on offense let's be real here

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 April 2015 16:44 (eleven years ago)

he cannot do offense at all hes the opposite of a natural baller

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:45 (eleven years ago)

like tony allen cant shoot but tony allen is a baller

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 16:48 (eleven years ago)

Playing with fire no? Could just awaken the dragon Bron.

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Friday, 10 April 2015 16:52 (eleven years ago)

Is Dame everyone's bball crush, btw? First time I've seen him in action last night.

A-Hanisi Coates (Leee), Friday, 10 April 2015 16:53 (eleven years ago)

he's def one of the hottest players in the nba yes

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 April 2015 16:53 (eleven years ago)

who has prettier eyes tho, curry vs dame

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Friday, 10 April 2015 17:02 (eleven years ago)

xps thabo is a liability on offense at least insofar as having a guy on the court who presents no threat from anywhere on offense affects spacing adversely

head clowning instructor (art), Friday, 10 April 2015 17:08 (eleven years ago)

Curry's gray eyes <3 xp

, Friday, 10 April 2015 17:10 (eleven years ago)

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 17:22 (eleven years ago)

his upper mouth doesn't move much when he talks, makes him a pretty a severe mumbler

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:05 (eleven years ago)

well i did include -perimeter- in there for a reason, also the league has changed since then

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:08 (eleven years ago)

lol whatever man

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Friday, 10 April 2015 18:12 (eleven years ago)

The Warriors basically just orbit defensive specialists around 2 good offensive players and could have won 73 games if they'd wanted to.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:13 (eleven years ago)

their defensive specialists can do competent offensive things

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:16 (eleven years ago)

thabo like cant do basketball things

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:16 (eleven years ago)

Iguodala is a pretty fucking wretched offensive player at this point

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:17 (eleven years ago)

yeah i don't think losing thabo dramatically alters the hawks odds, he'd barely been back and can't imagine he was a big part of whatever strategy budd is working on, but he was definitely a contributer and i don't think they're better off w/o him by any means. whether he's an asset or liability on the court dependent on the situation but that's pretty much what bench players in the playoffs are useful, bandages for specific contexts.

balls, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:18 (eleven years ago)

theres a difference between being like just inefficient and just not being able to make basic drives/passes and so forth

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:19 (eleven years ago)

thabo's per 36 is 10-8-2-2 with 1.4 turnovers, he's not a YMCA player man

balls, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:20 (eleven years ago)

hes a ymca player

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:20 (eleven years ago)

I think you've seen him do some embarrassing stuff occasionally and are hating a lil' bit

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:20 (eleven years ago)

I think if you throw the ball to thabo and no one is there he can dunk it and stuff

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:21 (eleven years ago)

maybe if no one is there

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:21 (eleven years ago)

saying Iguodala was "inefficient" would sound better if there was actual production going with it

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:22 (eleven years ago)

a straight routine drive to the rim with like an at all contested finish is dicey for him tho

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:22 (eleven years ago)

Iguodala per 36: 10.7-4.5-3.9-1.6-0.4 w/ 1.6 TOs
YMCA Thabo Sefo: 10.3-8.2-2.8-2.0-0.8 w/ 1.4

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:24 (eleven years ago)

as a fixture on the ymca circuit i can tell you he is not a ymca player

Heez, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:24 (eleven years ago)

iggy had a minute when he was playing better but yeah he really fell off a cliff the last few years whats up w that, i guess he is kinda the prototypical reliant on athleticism type but he always seemed like a decently skilled player even if he never had one really good offensive skill

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)

iggy at least defenses still guard even if maybe they shdnt thabo u dont have to guard

lag∞n, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:25 (eleven years ago)

one time they filmed a real world dc at my ymca and the cast tried to play in a pick up game. they were definitely not ymca players

Heez, Friday, 10 April 2015 18:26 (eleven years ago)

imo the reason thabo can't shoot anymore is that defense started guarding him a little (slow release)
