he's not "bad". he's a defensive specialist, and a really good one (look at his numbers). he fits in fine on a team that doesn't need offense from him

a team built like the hawks can probably less afford to lose role players than others

hes "bad" at "basketball" being a perimeter defensive specialist is just not enough, there is literally in which its fine to get nothing from one of yr players on offense

it's not like he's a liability on offense. the hawks will be fine. prob play a lot more teague and schroeder together.

i think zach lowe tweeted something like this will hurt the hawks if they end up playing the cavs because demarre is the only wing stopper now but i only see thabo coming into play in like severe end of game scenarios where every possession is followed by a timeout

he is absolutely a liability on offense

not really in the hawks lineup. he was doing a good job of slashing and playing within the offense. he started out the season missing like all his 3s but got better as he went. anyway i said he's not a HUGE liability.

maybe i should be but i'm not that worried about the cavs

The Warriors basically just orbit defensive specialists around 2 good offensive players and could have won 73 games if they'd wanted to.

Iguodala is a pretty fucking wretched offensive player at this point

yeah i don't think losing thabo dramatically alters the hawks odds, he'd barely been back and can't imagine he was a big part of whatever strategy budd is working on, but he was definitely a contributer and i don't think they're better off w/o him by any means. whether he's an asset or liability on the court dependent on the situation but that's pretty much what bench players in the playoffs are useful, bandages for specific contexts.

theres a difference between being like just inefficient and just not being able to make basic drives/passes and so forth

as a fixture on the ymca circuit i can tell you he is not a ymca player

iggy had a minute when he was playing better but yeah he really fell off a cliff the last few years whats up w that, i guess he is kinda the prototypical reliant on athleticism type but he always seemed like a decently skilled player even if he never had one really good offensive skill

iggy at least defenses still guard even if maybe they shdnt thabo u dont have to guard

one time they filmed a real world dc at my ymca and the cast tried to play in a pick up game. they were definitely not ymca players

imo the reason thabo can't shoot anymore is that defense started guarding him a little (slow release)
