Pierce and Nene are cooked. Good for a good game every 3-4 games

their bench looked solid coming into the year but it hasn't really worked out + injuries slowed them down + coach blows

wall and beal (still only 21) are legitimate franchise pieces, but the wizards historically have had a horrific ownership and lucking into wall and ending up with beal never changed that.

they signed martell webster on a huge overpay. the otto porter and jan vesley draft picks were disasters. i mean they had one whole draft where they picked vesley and chris singleton smh.

even the nene and gortat moves were seen as big gambles at the time and though they brought them up to a certain level of competitiveness and respectability this clearly is not a front office that understands how to think longterm.

and then of course the continued employment of a coach with a career winning percentage of 39%

wall and to some extent beal are basically the only things that have kept the wizards from being the knicks, basically

pretty big pieces tho

i think wall and beal are good enough as a foundation to break out of the hawks 4/5 bracket but you'd need a total front office and coaching staff overhaul to make that happen but ted leonsis is obstinate as fuck

draymond has developed into a better shooter than he probably needs to be, I don't see why shooting problems would be a reason not to take a chance on a promising big man, but given that he's gotten pretty decent at it I guess it doesn't matter now

I think I remember liking draymond but more like I bet this guy catches on to a rotation somewhere as a Luis Scola type not I'm sure this guy will be the Swiss Army knife of a title contender for sure
