slothroprhymes, Saturday, 21 March 2015 02:52 (eleven years ago)

call all destroyer, Saturday, 21 March 2015 02:53 (eleven years ago)

He's like 6'9 235.

Guys like that don't really get injured that much anyways. Injury risk greater for bulky guys or leapers.

― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, March 19, 2015 6:34 PM (Yesterday) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

as far as i can tell when he was drafted he was around 6-11/220-225,

He was 6'9 in bare feet, these are publicly available measurements.

Even post insanity/injuries Sanders still had absurd DRPM numbers. He was/is a great defender.

― Matt Armstrong, Friday, March 20, 2015 5:59 PM (5 hours ago)

again when i was questioning the sanders extension there was much less data to go on, and DRPM didn't even exist yet. i'm wary of buying into hype over a season or so's worth of defensive numbers, because they can fluctuate a lot. i never said he wasn't a very good defender. i questioned the contract because of 1) not a lot of data to go on on the defensive end 2) the fact that he gives you nothing on offense and 3) the fact that he had trouble staying on the court because of fouling. this is even before character issues became so problematic. obviously the jury is in at this point and he's a great defender, but even leaving the character issues aside, was he worth 11 million a year under the old cap structure? i don't think that's such a no-brainer

k3vin k., Saturday, 21 March 2015 03:12 (eleven years ago)

My conspiracy theory is that kev doesn't like lanky shotblockers who are awkward offensively.

― Matt Armstrong, Friday, March 20, 2015 6:02 PM (5 hours ago

i think it is definitely fair to say that i get less excited over one-dimensional players, particularly those who don't have a lot of ball skills

k3vin k., Saturday, 21 March 2015 03:15 (eleven years ago)

kyrie and k-lo officially in the playoffs for the first time

Clay, Saturday, 21 March 2015 03:31 (eleven years ago)

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 21 March 2015 03:54 (eleven years ago)

KLove was actually a LOLaker in high school. His team was the Lake Oswego Lakers.

Steve Nash is retiring.

All time FT% leader, third all time in assists, two MVPs (and one second place).

polyphonic, Saturday, 21 March 2015 18:50 (eleven years ago)

Steph def def (Spottie), Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:07 (eleven years ago)

One of my top 3 players for watching all time. Pretty much singlehandedly got me back into the nba about ten years ago.

Steph def def (Spottie), Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:09 (eleven years ago)

yeah nash owned so hard

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:20 (eleven years ago)

he was on something like 7 of the top 10 offensive effcientcy teams ever spanning two different franchises and rosters

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:22 (eleven years ago)

nash is a no-brainer HOFer, rip big man you were really cool

k3vin k., Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:40 (eleven years ago)

dude was a sight to behold running an offense. had most impressive pregame warmups out of anyone I've seen in person (along w/KG).

Marcus Smart has to do one crazy thing per season I guess

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 21 March 2015 19:58 (eleven years ago)

cheap shotting someone in the nuts is hella lame, like i can deal with taking a cheap shot as long as its not designed to injure, i mean we all get upset, but why the nuts thats just so childish

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:01 (eleven years ago)

Joe Johnson by all rights owes Steve Nash abt $80 mil at least

Clay, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)

also never forget Nash at the 2003 all star game press

Clay, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)

oops, press day thing wearing a "no war for oil" tshirt

Clay, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:07 (eleven years ago)

Marcus Smart has to do one crazy thing per season I guess
--Matt Armstrong

wasn't the thing he did in college incited by being called a racial epithet? not that the thing last night is comparable, it clearly isn't, smh @ marcus for the latter

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:08 (eleven years ago)

IIRC that's what Smart claimed but no one else heard it.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:38 (eleven years ago)

I'm pretty comfortable saying Nash is one of the 3 greatest PGs ever alongside Stockton and Magic.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 21 March 2015 20:40 (eleven years ago)

ya tend to agree a least a lil

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 March 2015 21:42 (eleven years ago)

seems to me that Isaiah's post-career tragicomedy has if anything led ppl to underrate his playing days, but I'm just slightly too young to really remember the guy well. all the footage I've seen makes prime look like genius stuff though, barring some famously dumb mistakes against Boston in the playoffs.
