shved does not seem to be what you'd call reliable for night to night moneymaking fan duel performances, idk

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:31 (eleven years ago)

Nazr Mohammed: another very large human that plays close to the basket, which is weird if duncan is always the closest and biggest on court

u r being pedantic and also not coincidentally wrong, the spurs have used a lot of huge twin towers type lineups over the years, they have also used a lot of not twin towers lineups in which tim duncan is never the pf, but regardless duncans game is just by many factors more centerish than it is power forwardy

You said he's always the biggest and closest and it's not even close to the dawg. I mean Rasho is about as centery as it gets.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:31 (eleven years ago)

btw was just loling at "the petulant russian" tough beat matt condolences

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:31 (eleven years ago)

if we are doing a bigness comparison...duncan is bigger than nazr.

youre just taking one off handed example and grinding it into the ground for some reason and its not a very good or compelling argument?

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:32 (eleven years ago)

It was the entirety of your argument distinguishing Mchale and duncan. It's also not really an example in any way, it's a definitive statement about Duncan's career which is incorrect.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:35 (eleven years ago)

greatest PF ever should prob call a timeout now

k3vin k., Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:35 (eleven years ago)

blazers are playing decent defense again this is nice to see. kaman's looking spry.

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:36 (eleven years ago)

hollins 2.0 must have had an off night xp

To get super dfs about it, it was probably them giving burke the spot start. Shved also hit threes which is just variance.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:36 (eleven years ago)

btw duncan is a good 4 and 5, he plays both sometimes in the same game, yall are both correct, shake hands

k3vin k., Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:39 (eleven years ago)

duncan is omnipositional

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:40 (eleven years ago)

Nazr, Rasho, d rob, where are the smaller guys who "usually" play with duncan? Other than bonner there really haven't been many stretch 5s. Throw in Tiago who is a low post guy too and he's played the majority of his career with guys as big or bigger who are primarily low post players.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:41 (eleven years ago)

my main argument is DUNCAN IS A NATURAL CENTER which is obvious to anyone who either a. understands basketball or b. is not a grumpy man picking stupid fights on a message board cause he is sad about gambling

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:41 (eleven years ago)

batum is doing pretty well, seems to have crawled back from that cliff edge

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:41 (eleven years ago)

oberto/elson years were peak "duncan is a C" time

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:42 (eleven years ago)

For whatever reason popovich thinks centers should play alongside duncan and that they should guard centers a lot.

Right but Mchale is a natural center too. Very similar players in fact.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:42 (eleven years ago)

im sorry duncan played in a lot of twin towers lineups i retract the part of the offhanded statement you have chosen to pedantically pick at

How lag admits defeat

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:44 (eleven years ago)

idk, splitter guarded dirk, LMA, and bosh a lot, as did diaw. a lot PFs are too far from the basket for timmy. duncan spends a lot of his d effort in and around the bucket waiting for fools to try him at the rim.

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:44 (eleven years ago)

batum's turned it around recently yeah, but still has off games now and then where it seems like his head isn't screwed on right. he might cost portland a loss in the playoffs just by like forgetting how to play basketball for a half xps

^^^ i suspect matt armstrong knows this

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:46 (eleven years ago)

btw i deeply regret bringing up the best pf ever argument

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:46 (eleven years ago)

like i get the argt that duncan is sometimes more of a PF offensively because he does start sets on the elbow and tiago is more high post low post right in the middle, but that doesnt flow on d and duncan is usually your trad C on D and has been since forevers ago

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:47 (eleven years ago)

― Clay, Thursday, March 12, 2015 12:45 AM (23 seconds ago)

i like how portland continues to give him (and lillard) free reign to work out their kinks, almost have to

k3vin k., Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:48 (eleven years ago)

duncan plays center on D and his offensive game can only marginally be considered power forwardish in the largest lineups

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:48 (eleven years ago)

yall seein this "the gunman" film preview right now? the movie appears to be about men with guns it is living up to its billing.

Well I did and then you called it offhanded or whatever. What are the non offhanded arguments that i should focus on

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:49 (eleven years ago)

I mean if you didn't want me to contest the "usually biggest and closest" thing idk maybe use an offhand tag or something

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 March 2015 04:50 (eleven years ago)

xp seems like a reasonable proposition for a film
