had to go out so i recorded the last 3 mins + ot of the cavs game, harden played so well at the end of regulation.
that was the first sustained cavs watching i've done in a while and the kevin love thing is even more baffling. it's like he doesn't know how to impact the game on offense anymore. did you guys see late in the game when he had a free drive on the baseline and missed the layup? no confidence at all. i was comparing him to motiejunas who is nowhere near as talented but is a big guy with mobility and he's so much better rn at making moves and finding spaces where he can be useful.

love made some nice plays in the 1st half fwiw
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 02:26 (eleven years ago)
you're right he did but just not good enough
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 March 2015 02:27 (eleven years ago)
def not good enough but he did look way more comfortable w the 2nd unit being the man fwiw
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 02:29 (eleven years ago)
love sucking and depth issues have me wondering how good cleveland actually is.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 March 2015 02:31 (eleven years ago)
def not good enough but he did look way more comfortable w the 2nd unit being the man fwiw --lag∞n
well yeah because that's what he is, he doesn't want to contribute but to be the star
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 03:01 (eleven years ago)
he should prob just go be on the lakers and make them the new timberwolves, that'd be fine by me bc the lakers would still ultimately blow and he'd throw up nifty highlight reels on the reg
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 03:02 (eleven years ago)
i want love to go to the 76ers, city of brotherly love
― polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 03:04 (eleven years ago)
i really don't think love is like willfully playing bad or mad abt his role, i think he lacks bball iq in a lot of respects.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 March 2015 03:10 (eleven years ago)
there was a campwide single elimination horse tourney and the winner got to play Tim Hardaway, the camp sponsor. This was like 1993 or 94? I was an excellent shooter as a kid and won the tourney and played Hardaway in front of everyone and beat him bc he was a shitty outside shooter at the time and I knew it. I was also *extremely tiny* for my age and this embarrassed him further, I assume, and when he missed the last shot he grabbed the board and spiked the ball against the gym wall super hard and the crowd went silent and he walked out of the door, it was really weird for everyone.

imo every basketball player and really every person and prob every living being benefits from being in the right role, and for kevin love that his efficient high volume scorer/rebounder/play maker out of the double team
he just doesnt seem comfortable as a secondary player, maybe he will figure it out after a while, but shd he have to
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:07 (eleven years ago)
btw wuts up

This is it. The moment for Javale. The moment for ILH. The moment for basketball.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:19 (eleven years ago)
xxp no he shouldn't necessarily have to and yea he should probably go elsewhere if he wants to be the star on an otherwise pedestrian team where he can play hero ball.
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:39 (eleven years ago)
which isn't some sort of value judgment or anything on him, but simultaneously dunno exactly what he was expecting on the cleve
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:42 (eleven years ago)
CAD's comment upthread is otm, I don't think he's trying to be meh on purpose, it's a combo of being in the wrong role and being just a tad overrated
― slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:46 (eleven years ago)
CLAY
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:51 (eleven years ago)
agreed btw that love should just go and be the number 1 on a mediocre team that maybe won't end up being that mediocre at one point
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:53 (eleven years ago)
its just hard to have three primary scorers on the court at the same time and he's not good enough at D to chameleon it and play another role.
― Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 05:55 (eleven years ago)
is it possible that love has a skillset that doesn't allow him to be a role player but isn't quite good enough to be a true two-way franchise star?
i mean probably not but maybe? even with the cavs rolling he still seems horribly out of place and miscast.
maybe it's a mental thing? he shouldn't fit worse than bosh offensively but it still seems like he does? defensively it's obvious tho
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:57 (eleven years ago)
bosh looked p miscast his first year w the big three too, tho obvs not to the truly epic extent love has
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:58 (eleven years ago)
even tho things are happy go lucky with the cavs now i still think their manifest destiny is a dispiriting playoff loss that gets laid at the feet of love who ends up bolting on some dwight shit
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:59 (eleven years ago)
likely def
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:00 (eleven years ago)
i think love cld be the primary scorer on a elite nba team, but wldnt fit with as wide variety of types of elite teams as more versatile superstars like bron or w/e
love wld be really good prob on a very structured team like the the hawks or spurs
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:01 (eleven years ago)
spurs might have some money this summer i hear
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:02 (eleven years ago)
love might be miscast with a ring in a few months
― polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:12 (eleven years ago)
wld be frankly shocked
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:15 (eleven years ago)
not impossible i guess
cavs just seem still very not pro
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:16 (eleven years ago)
feel like the east is still very winnable, and then, who knows?
― polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:17 (eleven years ago)
yeaaah just try to visualize jr smith starter for the nba champion u cant do it can u because its impossible
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:18 (eleven years ago)
not like thats their only issue either
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:19 (eleven years ago)
basically like every single player on their team is suspect in some way even bron
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:20 (eleven years ago)
so much better than before the trades tho. they have a pretty solid 7 man rotation now. think i mentioned on here I don't mind JR for a focused half season. They could flirt with lineups and start Tristan and bring Love off the bench to overlap with either Bron or Kyrie.
― Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:25 (eleven years ago)
the trades got them a legitimate nba lineup, not a championship lineup imho, i say they go down to a more disciplined seasoned well rounded team
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:27 (eleven years ago)
prob the hawks
nothing would give me more pleasure than to see them get bounced by washington in the first round, don't get me wrong
― polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:31 (eleven years ago)
just checking up and cavs have some genuinely awful players getting minutes wow
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:32 (eleven years ago)
not like guys who can be cut out in the playoff either
― lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:33 (eleven years ago)
marion might be able to help in the playoffs if he's healthy but he old too.
