won't be tough to get in now that the suns are out of the picture, but it'll be interesting how high they can climb

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 00:51 (eleven years ago)

btw i haven't even seen this whiteside guy play yet but if he's actually good the heat are probably the 4th best team in the east now easily

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 00:52 (eleven years ago)

He's on some linsanity light action rn, seems good tho

Steph def def (Spottie), Friday, 20 February 2015 00:53 (eleven years ago)

yeah guys who blow up like this out of nowhere always seem like fools gold to me but who knows

Clay, Friday, 20 February 2015 00:54 (eleven years ago)

i've avoided watching him because i'm skeptical of big guys who suddenly learn how to play basketball and because the heat are (were!) depressing, but i guess if it's gone on for this long i'll have to

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 00:56 (eleven years ago)

His timing on blocking shots is perfect

Steph def def (Spottie), Friday, 20 February 2015 00:58 (eleven years ago)

Maybe add him to the roids thread tho

Steph def def (Spottie), Friday, 20 February 2015 00:59 (eleven years ago)

re: phoenix, they went all in on bledsoe contract-wise so i'm not sure you'd have kept dragic happy under any set of circumstances, so they needed to move him for whatever and miami offered some whatever so they took it. the thomas deal gets them a first rd pick plus a decent guard in replacement. brandon knight is having a solid year, and supposedly can play the 2 so maybe there'll be less difficulty distributing time and positional role among 3 point guards.

maybe phoenix isn't getting hosed in all of this

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:03 (eleven years ago)

kyle lowry sitting in for kenny tonight, kind of cool

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:03 (eleven years ago)

i think they took a decent shot given the circumstances

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:04 (eleven years ago)

given how badly phx fucked the whole thing up coming away with brandon knight actually seems decent

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:05 (eleven years ago)

somehow the suns lost the lakers lottery pick in all this tho

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 01:05 (eleven years ago)

to philly for i assume mcw to milwaukee?

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:06 (eleven years ago)

wow really regret not being able to spend this draft deadline with u all, my grade a+

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:06 (eleven years ago)

oh i didn't realize they lost the lakers pick, that sucks

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:06 (eleven years ago)

i guess they had to to salvage any shot for the season.

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:08 (eleven years ago)

tough call though

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:08 (eleven years ago)

hey if anyone runs into any knicks-related schadenfreude re: no longer having a shot at dragic pls post it

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:09 (eleven years ago)

i imagine this thread was a fun read after all the mayhem

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:10 (eleven years ago)

i didnt read it,prefer to dwell in the moment

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:13 (eleven years ago)

love IT welcome to the celtics great trade btw

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:13 (eleven years ago)

xp it's a truly bleak time for ny basketball. the nets made no attempt to improve today and won't be drafting until sometime in the '20s

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:14 (eleven years ago)

xps i should say

pursuit of happiness (art), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:14 (eleven years ago)

cant believe the thunder traded away the rights to tibor piss

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:15 (eleven years ago)

thomas instantly makes the celtics like 4x more watchable

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:15 (eleven years ago)

also he's pals with avery bradley so that might sidestep the chemistry issues

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:18 (eleven years ago)

flash reaction teams that did good in no particular order: celtics, suns, thunder, blazers

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:18 (eleven years ago)

somehow the suns lost the lakers lottery pick in all this tho

lakers likely keeping this pick this year, next year who knows where they finish

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:20 (eleven years ago)

re: philly getting the lakers pick - if it's still top 5 protected, doesn't it not matter bc lakers are most likely gonna be top 5?

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:20 (eleven years ago)

damn too slow

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:20 (eleven years ago)

it's top 3 protected in 2016 and...I still think the lakers might be that bad then, it's just not a known quantity like right now

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:21 (eleven years ago)

pick still has a good chance to be high this year or next, tho no guarantee

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:22 (eleven years ago)

one of the dudes who writes for the SB nation sixers blog, liberty ballers, posted the most kool-aid-drunk, hinkie-head article ever about how hinkie was right...exactly at 3 pm, right when hinkie traded MCW and kj mcdaniels

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:32 (eleven years ago)

his tweets shortly after to walk it all back were kind of hilarious

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:33 (eleven years ago)

lol

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:33 (eleven years ago)

Feel like thunder did great just collecting a bunch more decent guys and shipping out two of their problem children which should make everybody chill

Also finally it's the end of the Scott brooks' perk binkie era

we just form a f#!king wall (agent hibachi), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:34 (eleven years ago)

Cenk Akyol a 6'5 guard from Turkey, was drafted 59th in 2005 by Atlanta but has been traded 3 times within the last year.

Currently listed as the fourth-string SF for Anadolu Efes!

This shit is wild and hilarious I wonder if Cenk even has an agent who bothers to let him know "bro your NBA rights got traded again this month good luck in turkobasket cup level D"

we just form a f#!king wall (agent hibachi), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:36 (eleven years ago)

i drank a lot of efes

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:37 (eleven years ago)

also I love how ainge saw a trade almost completed without him and butted in and was like YO Philly let ME take the best player in this trade don't worry about it you're just gonna trade him away for an injured big man in a year so let's just slide Isaiah over to the celtics thanks

we just form a f#!king wall (agent hibachi), Friday, 20 February 2015 01:39 (eleven years ago)

well yeah unlike hinkie, danny has some semblance of a plan

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:44 (eleven years ago)

Also finally it's the end of the Scott brooks' perk binkie era

i drew a comic awhile back about Brooks and Glasses and the punch line was brooks putting perk in the game and i am sad it now has no relevance

Clay, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:45 (eleven years ago)

i think this is the first time i actually have watched mavs w rondo, it is...not great.

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:46 (eleven years ago)

i dont think hinkies plan is necessarily bad its just is not vverifiably good yet, if theres something thats particularly sus its drafting non shooters and making them watch ted talks, besides that seems pretty reasonable

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:47 (eleven years ago)

basically he scammed ownership into guaranteeing him job security because there's no way to prove that he was conclusively wrong...yet

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:52 (eleven years ago)

to be fair sixers are owned by like private equity people who seemed p happy to be scammed and/or don't understand the NBA

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:53 (eleven years ago)

a complete tear down was prob the way to go tho w that team tho / jrue holiday trade was def good

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:54 (eleven years ago)

durant playing point guard for some reason

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:55 (eleven years ago)

maybe hes the coach/gm of okc now

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:56 (eleven years ago)

thunders recent moves def seem p desperate

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 01:57 (eleven years ago)
