xps yeah i know it was always likely for aldridge to stick around, but i was pretty sure he'd at least visit a couple teams (spurs are apparently v interested, etc) if portland flamed out hard in the playoffs or something. you know why not etc.

i'm very interested to see what moves the spurs make this year.

Depends if Duncan comes back. Manu, too. I think duncan is for sure coming back, but manu is one that I'm not sure about. But either way, duncan coming back plus kawhi getting max and hall of fame shooting guard Danny Green is due for a raise, they're not going to make a big splash.

halftime here at moda, game doesn't feel as close as it is (wiz by ten) but the blazers have shot like garbage so far and the Wizards are near 60% so if things level out some we could get a game.

observations:
John Wall is v fast
Beal m/l never leaves the corner three on offense
Gortat has some subtle pick and roll smarts I've never noticed before, v sneaky.
Aldridge looks slightly tentative but mostly fine.

spurs can sign someone else before they sign kawhi then sign him and exceed the cap cause they have his bird rights

is that how it works? my impression is that in order to retain those bird rights, they have a cap hold of a certain amount above the previous contract. in order to sign another max player, theyd have to renounce kawhi's bird rights.

yes its true but because kawhi is on a rookie contract is cap hold is very small compared to his potential max deal
