@ESPNSteinLine: Grizz poised to get Jeff Green/Russ Smith; Celts to get Tay Prince/Austin Rivers/Grizz first; Pelicans to get Quincy Pondexter/Grizz second

@ESPNSteinLine: As my colleague @GwashNBAGlobe reported earlier tonight, Boston is already trying to move Austin Rivers. LIKELY in a separate deal, though

lmao if the clippers trade for another Rivers

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 11 January 2015 00:08 (eleven years ago)

kinda makes sense that the hornets are better with a lineup that's just kemba walker and 4 guys who play D

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 11 January 2015 00:18 (eleven years ago)

(Zeller pretty solid on D imo)

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 11 January 2015 00:19 (eleven years ago)

philly has a one point lead over indy with 32 seconds. if they hold on they'll be owners of a two game win streak.

Clay, Sunday, 11 January 2015 03:07 (eleven years ago)

lol players and fans celebrating like they just won a playoff series. so much joy in philly!

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 January 2015 05:12 (eleven years ago)

yeah that comment is pretty indefensible and obv above his paygrade too

Clay, Monday, 12 January 2015 05:17 (eleven years ago)

Spottie, Monday, 12 January 2015 05:43 (eleven years ago)

So, the blazers are first to 30 wins. Take that, GSW!

Assume this is what Clay was talking about

blatt comment has been take way outta context fyi

micah, Monday, 12 January 2015 12:07 (eleven years ago)

well yeah, it's something to do with the cavs and a not insignificant portion of the NBA audience seems to lowkey want the cavs to fail spectacularly, so, anything anyone says on any level at the team is gonna get twisted somehow

i'm tellin you it was kenard (slothroprhymes), Monday, 12 January 2015 12:58 (eleven years ago)

that said, this particularquote is kinda NAGL for blatt. GMs can worry about player salaries.

i'm tellin you it was kenard (slothroprhymes), Monday, 12 January 2015 13:00 (eleven years ago)

xp *any level of that team

i'm tellin you it was kenard (slothroprhymes), Monday, 12 January 2015 13:01 (eleven years ago)

what did he even mean by that, i mean kevin love is a max player, is it cause he didnt get the five year megamax

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 14:34 (eleven years ago)

odd comment

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 14:34 (eleven years ago)

then like lebron is also not a max player

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 14:34 (eleven years ago)

A "max contract" has a very specific definition.

There are currently 7 players in the NBA on max contracts, Lebron and Love are not among them.

The question Blatt replied to referred specifically to Love and Kyrie (who is on a max contract).

In that vein his comment could be viewed as entirely innocent and I'm inclined to give him the botd even if its a lot more fun to take it the other way.

even if this is true at this point it doesn't even matter

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 January 2015 14:48 (eleven years ago)

What it comes down to is whether or not Love did take it personally and how he responds when questioned about it. He has shown a lack of tact in the past.

not true!

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:04 (eleven years ago)

i mean max contract has no specific definition, its a colloquialism, but within what youre talking about as far as the maximum contracts teams are allowed to offer in the nba there are two types one that lasts for four years and one that last for five, teams are only allowed one guy on the five year deal, you can say only the one that lasts for five years counts as a "max contract", but that would just be you saying that

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:09 (eleven years ago)

I haven't watched the cavs kings game yet but who are the "guys" lazing on transition defense?

"This is a team in disarray," the scout said. "They are so discombobulated out there with their new pieces. And it's not just that, there were guys not even crossing half court to get back on transition D."

I've heard this line of thinking so much the past couple weeks. I guess people just aren't watching? The hawks are so clearly one of the best teams in the league that even if the bulls/cavs start playing at their max potential they would struggle to win a series against them

Heez, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:24 (eleven years ago)

idk the hawks are playing the best they have like ever its not unreasonable to expect them to backslide some
