2014-15 NBA regular season thread: 82 games of injuries and inevitabilities

i think folks are leaning a bit too far into the skid of week 1/small sample size conclusions, and the team will figure its shit out eventually. was anyone expecting cavs to pull out a W against a team that made the 2nd round in the west last year on said team's home court?

that said, the statement is a bit of a D move on lebron's part, dude gotta chill

I think he's decided he's not going to kill himself to get them back in games where they are down big and not in sync because he did too much of that in Miami, probably just ok with the idea that they will be kinda mediocre the first thirty games or so and then start clicking

Also maybe just waiting for them to trade waiters or something

i was thinking this last night -- we went thru this with the heat. remember when lebron "shoulder checked" spoelstra or whatever in dallas? the press is gonna let those same moments happen again with this cavs team, i promise

after lebron shoulder checked spoelstra in dallas the heat won 21 of their next 22 games but i bet there will be a "lebron shoulder checks blatt" type moment w/ the cavs this year that the press totally flips out about (or maybe this is it)

this would make more sense if he hadn't lost a ton of weight and had a whole offseason of rest.

Injury, going off PEDs, drug problems, personal problems all seem more likely than he just suddenly became 20% worse on both ends of the court over 5 months.

I dunno if it will be worth it much longer but I say this having seen kobels a few times live including stabbing my fave team in the heart by going 6-24 in 2010 and sports-hating the dude with all my being-- he is legit incredible to see in person

moda center, ahem, gets about quarter-filled with teens and bros and california import families sporting kobe jerseys. this is by far the worst aspect of going to a laker game.
