lakers down 24 to phx. what if kobe is on the team that sets the record for most losses? what will even happen?
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:00 (eleven years ago)
i wld laugh and pray they dont get the #1 pick
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:03 (eleven years ago)
it wld be a true accomplishment to outdo philly when youre not even trying to tank
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:07 (eleven years ago)
Milwaukee just blew a 22 point lead in the 4th to a crappy team, sounds right
― Abstinence Hawk (frogbs), Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:09 (eleven years ago)
@haralabob Lakers have been outscored 75-15 from the 3pt line so far this season. No big deal.

it might be the lakers whole season no one can say
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:23 (eleven years ago)
portland looking like theyre starting to figure out if you double or triple team westbrook he will still try to dunk
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:25 (eleven years ago)
kobe averaging 25 shots and a technical per game.
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:26 (eleven years ago)
he only once averaged over 23.5 shots per game, in 05-06, when he was 27 years old.
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:27 (eleven years ago)
are we still saying the lakers aren't trying to tank. they totally are. kobe either doesn't get it or is in denial, and maybe Scott is pretending to be the same, but yeah they're tanking...but even if they weren't they'd still be pretty atrocious
― and also pointsman, octopi don't bark (slothroprhymes), Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:44 (eleven years ago)
theyre not they just couldnt get any good players to play for them because kobe is the devil

i think one of the problems with russ's game is nobody can keep up that kinda insane energy for 48 minutes. been shooting jumpers all second half, can't get to the line at all. maybe batum figured him out some but it hasn't been pretty.
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:56 (eleven years ago)
watching this Blazers starting 5 get hot in a home game is one of the true joys of the NBA
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:58 (eleven years ago)
russ doesnt know how to adjust his game when defenses adjust to him hes got no counter
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 04:59 (eleven years ago)
wow my dudes just droppin daggers all over

ha hubie talking truth kobes playing to pass jordan on the alltime scoring list
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:02 (eleven years ago)
russ' first half was some dang electric stuff though
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:02 (eleven years ago)
he really needs jackson or really anybody who can create a shot to run with so he doesn't have to carry so much load all game
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:05 (eleven years ago)
Russell Westbrook is an uncoachable moron who doesn't play defense. Enjoy the ride!
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:05 (eleven years ago)
ya i dont like his chances with defenses targeting him sans durant i mean portland isnt a great defensive team and they figured it out by the second half you just have to smother him once hes decided to drive then after a while hell start taking those pull up twos and hes mostly harmless, obvs hes unstoppable on the break regardless but this recipe has worked against him in the playoffs even with durant so idk im sure hell have some great games but good defensive teams shd be able to contain him
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:08 (eleven years ago)
idk if hes uncoachable tho not sure anyones ever tried
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:09 (eleven years ago)
he freelances too much on offense but that's a real far stretch from uncoachable
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:12 (eleven years ago)
brooks just needs to give westbrook glasses you guys chill out

― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:15 (eleven years ago)
love that stuff
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:16 (eleven years ago)
okc's problem is that they don't have a system on offense and thus shit looks completely broken without KD out there.
teams with fluid systems can plug and play and more or less survive the loss of great players. when your entire offense is "our great player does incredible shit" you're gonna have a problem when that great player is out.
the first half of this season was laid down years in advance
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:16 (eleven years ago)
agree totally
― lag∞n, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:17 (eleven years ago)
what kind of coach would be ideal for the durant/russ combo? a carlisle disciple?
― Clay, Thursday, 30 October 2014 05:18 (eleven years ago)
Scott Brooks on managing Russell Westbrook's minutes: "It's never easy to take him out. ... But you've got to be smart."
"smart. smart like my glasses."

this is like the hallmark of uncoachability: busting the offense with no consequence or shame

coach brooks: right. here's the play. we'll let westy create something or other. you guys run around in case he needs to pass.
westbrook: look! a puppy!
coach brooks: ok! go get 'em, tiger! (slaps westbrook's butt)

that is my deepest observation for tonight
i'm hanging out on lakers twitter where the main problem, other than #Byronball, seems to be that kobe doesn't get enough calls.
