After a crazy weekend of playoff baseball, there were two baseball stories up on the front page today. There's an entire 2014-2015 NBA preview section.

yes but baseball is a terrible sport

in depth preview is kinda more their steez than game recaps tho, but yeah you would think they couldve come up w some #longform way to explore the baseball playoffs, also may just be a lil lag after the weekend in the baseball coverage

ya grantland for me is 90% zach lowe, i keep a bookmark to his author page, but they have some other cool stuff sometimes too

wesley morris is pretty cool, read him in the boston globe for years

Jonathan Abrams features are almost uniformly incredible

Zach Lowe is an incredible perpetual machine of NBA analysis but I am already kind of tired of his writing this season, feel like he needs to son of bazerk CHANGE THE STYLE a lil bit but then again when he tried to fit into the grantland pop culture reference style early on it veered dangerously into poochie on a skateboard territory

yeah wld prefer if he just honed it down a lil

also hes kinda boring rn prob because were in the very boring part of the offseason

He def recovered once he embraced his inner basketball shut-in but it's funny when he comes back from a vacation suddenly armed with four year old breaking bad references

Yeah I kinda think they could have just let him write less abt some minor contracts instead of having to pad the last months worth with three intro grafs abt the upcoming TV deal and rising cap

Kinda like the entire entertainment press wasted thousands upon thousands of words chinscratching abt a crouching tiger sequel no one gives abt

ya we really dont need all these hot takes

it's like w/the internet and media moving faster, instead of at the end of the day the big stories being written for the following day's paper, now all day long you see new stories popping up on websites every fifteen minutes that fifteen minutes later are completely forgotten.

lowe is at times the best basketball writer we have and at others the most unreadable. he's just unbearably square

like hes the most popular sports writer in the country but he will always mean less to espn than some rando college football game
