I feel like Bledsoe-Dragic is the first small backcourt that really works on both ends in a long time. Snow-Iverson worked but it had more limitations.

the hawks owned atlanta for latter half of the 80s, nique trade plus braves emergence hurt that significantly. if they were really good or really exciting i think the city would rally around them (or at least atlanta would, outside the perimeter maybe not). when there's a player the city can love it helps too, dikembe was super popular as was mookie blaylock, but most of the best hawks since the nique trade have been alright but dull - yr steve smiths and al horfords. that or talented liabilities like glenn robinson (who the hawks gave up their pick in the 2003 draft for among other things) or josh smith.

monta has fit in real well in dallas, he's been a quiet revelation as a non-chucker this year
