tsrobodo, Friday, 21 March 2014 01:48 (twelve years ago)

on offense, sure

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 21 March 2014 01:54 (twelve years ago)

ya dieng and love are an ideal pairing, itll be pretty cool for the next 1.2 seasons

lag∞n, Friday, 21 March 2014 01:57 (twelve years ago)

Not like they didn't just give up 98 over 3 quarters. Always felt it was an Adelman/team defense issue.

It's extremely difficult to have a good defensive team when both of your bigs are very slow and don't block shots. I can't think of a good defensive team in the modern era whose starting 4 and 5 combined for 1.0 bpg. There probably is one but it's rare.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 21 March 2014 02:01 (twelve years ago)

True enough, just feel more intelligent planning and a better culture on D would go a long way.

tsrobodo, Friday, 21 March 2014 02:09 (twelve years ago)

dame alost had a gorgeous putback dunk to close the first half and got hip-checked in mid-air -- he was way, way up -- and had a pretty scary fall

Clay, Friday, 21 March 2014 03:49 (twelve years ago)

nic batum leads all players in rebounding in march by a fairly wide margin o_O

right now there is a high school freshman somewhere who will be one of the top picks of the 2018 draft and go to the celtics via nets from the kg/pierce trade

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Friday, 21 March 2014 17:38 (twelve years ago)

chicago is getting 6.5 points tonight vs indy, in case anyone likes money

all the gamblers are pretty focused on ncaa tonight

Billy King said Brook Lopez had surgery to "clean out" his left ankle and "repair a tear." Said timetable for Lopez return is still June.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 21 March 2014 23:18 (twelve years ago)

royce white apparently might actually play in an nba game tonight

Clay, Friday, 21 March 2014 23:24 (twelve years ago)

So are we still pretending that Paul George is a top 5 forward?

i was just looking at his monthly splits--dude really needs to decide if he's a 40% shooter or a 30% shooter from 3, it kind of matters and he doesn't seem to do middle ground.

― call all destroyer, Thursday, March 20, 2014 8:16 AM (10 hours ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

he just needs to take fewer shots, its kind indys fault for having such a shitty offense and no legit first option, like im sure in a more functional system he could shoot high 30s from deep, he takes a lot of bad shots

More or less OTM-- Pacers ball movement has been toast since the All Star break, and the biggest part of that has been PG / Lance having a ton of dribble-dribble-dribble-20ftr sequences. It's not for a lack of scorers -- 1-5 can shoulder the scoring load in a win -- but w/o the ball movement, they're not finding any of those super-high% shots that Spurs-level passing yield. And so many turnovers ;_; Still think IND/MIA is happening, but Indy's play of late is a lot more distressing than Miami's.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:10 (twelve years ago)

also his head clearly got a lil fucked up by hitting every shot he threw up for two months and everyone calling him an mvp candidate

Heh, plus that whole offering-to-pay-for-abortion thing kinda came and went and no one made a big deal out of it / dug a little deeper into it.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:12 (twelve years ago)

hmmm?

call all destroyer, Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:13 (twelve years ago)

it is for a lack of scoring tho, i mean indy is not a good offensive team talent wise

lag∞n, Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:21 (twelve years ago)

Nah, they have more than enough options, it's just that they turn the ball over a shitton + trading high % shots for low %, it's not really that complicated.

Of the five, Hibbert is the weakest on the offensive end, but when his number is called he does well (MIA in playoffs essentially). Like, last game Knicks had Aldrich on him, and he went to work, was 8-10, but they weren't feeding the ball into him enough. Kinda bitched about it after the game.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:25 (twelve years ago)

West - Stephenson - PG - Hill all totally capable scorers, kinda obviates the need for a #1 to pour in a ton of shots.

Their perimeter D hasn't been as sharp post All Star break, either.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:27 (twelve years ago)

no they really are not a good offensive team, at their best theyre average, unless you think theres some sort of hidden never utilized talent there

lag∞n, Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:27 (twelve years ago)

Kinda surprised teams haven't used Suns' game plan vs. Indy, which was to relentlessly run the ball Loyola Mrmt. style. They're the only team that looked decisively better than Indy this year.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:29 (twelve years ago)

like if they had a legit #1 option maybe but thats a rather glaring missing piece

lag∞n, Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:29 (twelve years ago)

Eh, I think PG is there (or will be). But if Indy wins it all, he'd easily be the weakest offensive #1 since someone on that '04 Pistons team.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:32 (twelve years ago)

yeah indys not winning it all

lag∞n, Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:34 (twelve years ago)

Ha, George Hill just picked up three straight pushing fouls in about ten seconds.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 00:44 (twelve years ago)

Damn, 76ers come back from 17 down with 5:00 left, blow it at the end, history is happening March 29 vs Pistons, only teams w/ worse streaks are three different Cavs teams.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 22 March 2014 01:29 (twelve years ago)

do cavs play 76ers between now and the 29th? @cavsdan should step-up, for his team, and let philly win. cavs place in history is at stake.

lol at Durant turning into basketball jesus once Westbrook gets hurt again

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 22 March 2014 02:27 (twelve years ago)

doesn't sound good.

After being struck on the knee by Lowry's leg, Westbrook immediately turned and called timeout, bending over in pain. He hobbled along the sideline for a few steps and was tended to briefly by the trainer before walking off the court with help from center Hasheem Thabeet.

Daniel, Esq 2, Saturday, 22 March 2014 02:28 (twelve years ago)
