NBA Legion ‏@MySportsLegion -- The Rockets will likely pursue Carmelo Anthony this summer. (via NYPost)

conveniently would put many of the players i dislike onto a single team.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:17 (twelve years ago)

lol if that involves a Lin trade

Nhex, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:38 (twelve years ago)

lin-for-melo, straight-up? sounds fair.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:41 (twelve years ago)

MAKE IT HAPPEN, ZEN MASTER

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:41 (twelve years ago)

more likely they'll dump Lin on another team to clear cap space (*sad lol*)

Nhex, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:45 (twelve years ago)

i don't even care about the Rockets, just sad to see Lin get underused

Nhex, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:46 (twelve years ago)

This girl I was in elementary school with told me Michael Jordan's wife at the time was her cousin. When I was 11 years old that was cool enough that I would actually tell other people who didn't even know this girl about it. Also btw the girl was very pretty.

harden lin and melo on one team would be nuts so much iso so much attack

lag∞n, Friday, 14 March 2014 16:50 (twelve years ago)

harden and melo on the same team would be so pointless

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 16:51 (twelve years ago)

but so so so much fun, for the train-wreck potential of their union alone.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 16:53 (twelve years ago)

nah their games are still a bit different

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 16:58 (twelve years ago)

melo doesn't go to the rim as much as harden and and harden rarely if ever plays out of the post

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 16:59 (twelve years ago)

if they use melo at the four in the same manner ny used him last year melo/harden cld be deadly, obvs like they both want to take all the shots so that could be a problem but if they behaved the rockets cld be unguardable

lag∞n, Friday, 14 March 2014 16:59 (twelve years ago)

feel like melo is prob at a place where hes ready to be more of a team first type guy but harden is still a young gun wilding out

lag∞n, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:00 (twelve years ago)

i really feel the rockets will be incredible if they get melo

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:00 (twelve years ago)

having parsons, melo & harden all on the floor at the same time would be basically unguardable, you can't leave any of those guys open

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:03 (twelve years ago)

actually think the biggest hurdle would be dwight insisting on getting 6-8 post touches a game instead of being a pure pick and roll player

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:03 (twelve years ago)

how do they keep all those guys? they can't resign Parsons and sign melo too right?

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:09 (twelve years ago)

they still have parsons for under $1m next year but yeah they'd have to get creative

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:11 (twelve years ago)

harden actually makes less than you'd think since he's on his first max deal, he's only at like $15 million instead the $20 million range where howard/melo & the big 3 are, so it gives them a little bit more wiggle room

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:12 (twelve years ago)

that team would be a sieve defensively

k3vin k., Friday, 14 March 2014 17:30 (twelve years ago)

they would score a lot tho

k3vin k., Friday, 14 March 2014 17:30 (twelve years ago)

dwight would foul in the first quarter of every game

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:33 (twelve years ago)

foul *out

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:33 (twelve years ago)

well with dwight behind them they would be better than you'd think but idk. melo could be a fine on-ball defender if he applied himself and parsons is passable. beverley is a good defender. i think it could work

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:35 (twelve years ago)

when melo tries to defend (which he has done more of the last two seasons, tbf) he's solid, it's mostly a matter of effort

Nhex, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:50 (twelve years ago)

melo could be a fine on-ball defender if he applied himself

this is true for most nba players

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:52 (twelve years ago)

not necessarily... i'm not sure it's true for harden

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:53 (twelve years ago)

melo is thick and can move, that's a good start

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:53 (twelve years ago)

"most"

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:54 (twelve years ago)

Harden just turns his back on action

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:54 (twelve years ago)

no but i'm not sure harden really has the skill to be a good on-ball defender even if he "tries"

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 17:55 (twelve years ago)

yeah, hard to say since he doesn't

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 17:56 (twelve years ago)

that potential houston team is def an interesting thought experiment, my first thought was theyd be odds on but theirs potential for dysfunction there too

lag∞n, Friday, 14 March 2014 18:10 (twelve years ago)

maybe jesus christ himself could come down and get lin, harden, melo, and parsons to play d with effort and focus within a scheme, but outside of that i'm not sure it's gonna happen.

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 March 2014 18:19 (twelve years ago)

jesus is totally overrated as a coach bro

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 14 March 2014 18:24 (twelve years ago)

i really feel the rockets will be incredible if they get melo

― le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, March 14, 2014

and what if they get rondo, too? mel-o, rond-o, beard-o, chandler(-o), and moody dwight (who will get grouchy from not getting his 6-8 post touches a game)

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 19:07 (twelve years ago)

ok w melo going to not the rockets, lets just not entertain this shit

rhyme heals all goons (m bison), Friday, 14 March 2014 19:25 (twelve years ago)

okay but moody dwight is my favorite dwight. something's gotta bring back moody dwight.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 20:22 (twelve years ago)

guys it's a "@mysportslegion" tweet in march, I'm not sure how relevant it is to july.

the rockets turning into a better version of the 2010 Orlando team is kinda interesting I suppose but I'm not sure it'd set the world on fire as melo and dwight move into their declining states

Clay, Friday, 14 March 2014 20:27 (twelve years ago)

the rockets make a lot of sense for melo tho

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 14 March 2014 20:28 (twelve years ago)

i like this breakdown -- and semi-harsh criticism -- of the heat's hyper-aggressive defense.

Damn Phil getting 12 milli a year!

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 23:22 (twelve years ago)

he asked for it all in singles. delivered to him, in montana, on the back of a unicorn.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 March 2014 23:23 (twelve years ago)

prob will get it too

Spottie, Friday, 14 March 2014 23:45 (twelve years ago)

not sure what happened to the Pacers but it's not good

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 15 March 2014 00:10 (twelve years ago)

Lala probably wouldn't hate houston as much as denver but it's not exactly NY

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 15 March 2014 00:11 (twelve years ago)

not necessarily... i'm not sure it's true for harden

― le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, March 14, 2014 5:53 PM (Yesterday) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

nah I disagree, Harden should be good.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 15 March 2014 00:12 (twelve years ago)

76ers mic the court well

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 15 March 2014 00:55 (twelve years ago)

Even though 76ers are going to make futility history by the end of the season, I love Brett Brown and hope they keep throughout the whole rebuild.
