by no means disagreeing, but what happened to make you say this now? i saw some kind of near-fight late in the game, but didn't see if chris paul was involved in it. harden was.

technically fwiw mchale always came off the bench but that was just cause he had some weird superstition against starting and would come in at the first whistle

right, I mean even in the seasons where he was "sixth man" we all knew what the real frontcourt was. He still started almost every game of his prime though.

Is there a summary judgement yet as to why he refuses to stop taking long jumpers / 3pters at mid to high volumes for the Pistons? Like, even if Monroe/Drummond clog the lane, I'd still rather force Smith to drive the lane and dump off / jack up 5fters rather than 20fters. Why haven't Cheeks/Loyer yanked him from games for jacking up bad shots? Has any reporter just point-blank asked Cheeks/Loyer (or even Smith!) why the fuck they continue to let him jack up these shots?

Beyond frustrating because dude is a Top 10 forward -- + wing defender, can guard multiple positions, really great offensive game near the basket -- but he's now on his 2nd organization that enables his daft shooting. idgi.

simmons has been calling smoove one of the 10 best forwards in the NBA since his monster year a few seasons ago but it's certainly not true any longer

Think his zone % were the same, only diff is that his usage went up a bit and accounted for more fts per game, which is the right direction.
