was pondering this today: is dragic the best international point guard in nba history after tony parker

i'm not counting nash as foreign

if you were making a 13-man team of the best international players in nba history dragic would almost definitely be on it right?

i'd imagine guys who went to college in the us don't count? because otherwise you end up with like olajuwon and so forth on there.

well i don't mean the 13 best international players

but the pool of international players is so slanted towards bigs that i feel like dragic would make the roster

i don't think i'd count guys who spent significant time in the US prior to the nba tho no

vlade is one of my all-time faves (dude was a pack a day smoker like ten years into his career! imagine that!) and he had the greatest personality but i feel like he's a step below yao and smits. maybe on par with sabonis but sabonis joined the nba in his mid-30's or so (he'd probably be considered an all-time great had he played his whole professional career in the states).

Sabonis not being in the NBA isn't enough to bump him off imo, at least if we're excluding everyone with US college experience. We have enough footage and he got them a gold medal.

the fact that he got a hard, satisfying volleyball spike off a fastbreak dunk AND that it landed on court where his teammate could grab it -- maybe the latter half is just luck, but damn.

he got UP

considering how high percentage a fastbreak attempt at the rim is (both ways), that has to be one of the most impactful blocks of the season
