z-time champion (agent hibachi), Monday, 24 February 2014 03:35 (twelve years ago)

love vs dame shoutout is pretty sick

k3vin k., Monday, 24 February 2014 03:38 (twelve years ago)

harden, like most of the current rockets team, seems like an immature asshole, but his "i must disagree" commercial with anthony davis is far better than any other nba star-driven commercials this year.

yeah man remember that playoff series against...the lakers? super fun player

yeah that magical quarter where he was like a tiny lebron

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:50 (twelve years ago)

that was the best

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:51 (twelve years ago)

That was a special quarter

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:52 (twelve years ago)

I'm glad the Suns didn't do a short-term move at the deadline, just roll with these guys and make some good picks imo

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:53 (twelve years ago)

they're kind of amazing? i think people predicted they'd be a lottery-team before the season started.

Daniel, Esq 2, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:55 (twelve years ago)

they probably deserve coach of the year and executive of the year

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:57 (twelve years ago)

they deserve all the plaudits

lag∞n, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:58 (twelve years ago)

does hornacek have a lot of experience as a coach? great player, but seems like he came out of left-field as coach.

Daniel, Esq 2, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:58 (twelve years ago)

they're fun to watch, that's for sure.

Daniel, Esq 2, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:58 (twelve years ago)

he was an assistant coach with the jazz and I think that's about it xp

i agree, this season is a massive win already and they have every reason to play for the future. there isn't a player available who would really change their playoff results.

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 03:59 (twelve years ago)

Otm

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:01 (twelve years ago)

this is kind of fluff but one thing i really dug was hornacek and the front office seemed to have this concept of "suns basketball" as a fun uptempo attack that they wanted to hold to, and the thing i maybe like most about this team is that it is so much in character of great suns teams of the past.

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:02 (twelve years ago)

hornacek just seems like the most chill coach ever, he's becoming my favorite NBA person

k3vin k., Monday, 24 February 2014 04:08 (twelve years ago)

He was such a thorny player. That fight he got in w Stackhouse is so all time.

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:10 (twelve years ago)

he was just a really good player in general, his '91-'92 season was rad

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:13 (twelve years ago)

yeah most people don't remember how awesome he was in phoenix, before his knees fell apart. They didn't exactly trade chopped liver to get Barkley.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:15 (twelve years ago)

basically the '91-'92 suns were a proto-smallball beast, what a cool team

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:15 (twelve years ago)

i'm watching this wolves vs blazers game on a lil delay but Testy Dame is like my favorite nba mode

also thomas robinson had a block of the year nominee and a hell of a game thus far, this guy could be worthwhile if he could just hone his game and focus

Oh man a sequence like that is why I love basketball and why all the other sports can go suck on an egg

Collins' Nets debut not a big deal for tru fans, i guess

For real. Straight volleyball spiked that thing too xp

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:25 (twelve years ago)

i think the local broadcast has replayed that block about 8 times

idk the 10-day felt pretty inevitable for him, i'm glad it happened of course but there is no significant basketball impact

otm, tho i'm kinda thinking about watching some baseball again. nice, slooooooow game.

Daniel, Esq 2, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:28 (twelve years ago)

we tangled with the collins stuff last summer when he came out. not sure i have a whole lot to say about it other than "finally" and "this is a great step forward, obviously." I hope he was well-received, extraordinarily so, by the crowd. but idk maybe it's a testament to how progressive the nba culture is compared to football and baseball that none of us really even brought it up. there was article after article on all the major bball blogs, of course and i read at least 3 or 4 reax this afternoon.

xxp

wtf @ that call

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:33 (twelve years ago)

The coming out was a bigger deal than him stepping on a court again imo. Cool story although I doubt he gets beyond a second 10 day contract.

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:34 (twelve years ago)

yeah i mean kenneth faried was raised by two women and runs a charity specifically aimed at lgbt youth in sports, despite identifying as straight as far as i know. damian lillard has a huge anti-bullying campaign he pushes really hard in portland and oakland schools. the nba skews younger in the ages of its players and more coastal in its locales than the other major sports.

there is like one out-conservative player in the league and basically everybody who follows the game makes fun of him for it despite his being a well above average big man. (he is white btw) xxp

Clay, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:36 (twelve years ago)

Hah thinking about putting Spencer Hawes face on a roll of toilet paper and selling it on Etsy

, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:40 (twelve years ago)

Thought we were talkin bout Kaman haha

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:41 (twelve years ago)

also the portland trail blazers as an organization a endorsed pro gay marriage in oregon bill that should be on the ballot in oregon in 2014. nobody really blinked an eye at that.

Clay, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:41 (twelve years ago)

like imagine if the atlanta braves or whatever endorsed gay marriage. it's not really thinkable.

Clay, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:44 (twelve years ago)

christ almighty does the lane violation even exist anymore

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:44 (twelve years ago)

how was that not a lane violation on howard

k3vin k., Monday, 24 February 2014 04:46 (twelve years ago)

refs are so full of shit

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:48 (twelve years ago)

Suns really got screwed. Beverly game ball tho.

Spottie, Monday, 24 February 2014 04:58 (twelve years ago)

was pondering this today: is dragic the best international point guard in nba history after tony parker

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 24 February 2014 05:24 (twelve years ago)

i'm not counting nash as foreign

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 24 February 2014 05:25 (twelve years ago)

if you were making a 13-man team of the best international players in nba history dragic would almost definitely be on it right?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 24 February 2014 05:25 (twelve years ago)

i'd imagine guys who went to college in the us don't count? because otherwise you end up with like olajuwon and so forth on there.

Clay, Monday, 24 February 2014 05:35 (twelve years ago)

well i don't mean the 13 best international players

but the pool of international players is so slanted towards bigs that i feel like dragic would make the roster

i don't think i'd count guys who spent significant time in the US prior to the nba tho no

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 24 February 2014 05:37 (twelve years ago)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_foreign_NBA_players

, Monday, 24 February 2014 05:39 (twelve years ago)

loose list is something like
c: yao, smits, sabonis
pf: nowitzki, pau gasol
sf: schrempf, stojakovic, kukoc
sg: ginobili, petrovic
pg: parker, dragic

something like that off the top of my head
