Love this pick-up for most of the same reasons I loved the Beasley/Heat signing-- no risk / worst case scenario they just ask Bynum to go home and collect $1m+, thx for the memories.

He's been a total mess this year so I don't think anyone is expecting much; he had that one fantastic game against Noah, that's about it. If Bynum gives the Pacers any games like that, he'll be worth it. Really as long as he can be someone to spell Hibbert during the playoffs, esp if they can rotate Bynum for offense / Mahinmi for defense, I'll be happy.

Very good chance Bynum still just wants to be at home, taking apart / putting together old telephones. maybe check out local computer homebrew clubs.

Also can't think of anyone off the top of my head, when was the last time an NBA team signed someone just to put him on ice?

he kinda overshot a dunk the other night and got hung up on the rim and i thought for a moment that he was gonna fly forward and let go and fall on his elbow again. His offense has been good over the last few weeks, got that little floater going nicely.

re: McGrady, I remember some Saturday afternoon type show featuring him meeting Clemens and showing him his stuff. Clemens was impressed.

I don't know much about baseball but isn't this a sport where some old fart high school coach made the majors because he realized he still could throw in the 90s? I wouldn't write off a 6'6 great athlete who was a top pitching prospect in high school.

probably right. fwiw, beasley seems to have caused zero locker-room problems; let's see how it goes with bynum.
