Atlanta has some cool players on their bench. They'd probably be a fun team if they didn't play half their games in a crypt.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 03:18 (twelve years ago)

40-18-4-3 for Al Jeff

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 05:58 (twelve years ago)

big game

Spottie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 06:40 (twelve years ago)

Rudy Gay 35 points on 16 shots

Spottie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 06:48 (twelve years ago)

Curry and Bogut beat the Jazz literally 2 on 5.

Curry w 44 and Bogut with 16-17-5-2-3 while the rest of the team shot 11 for 51

Spottie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 06:54 (twelve years ago)

bummer about nate nate. v sad.

Spottie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 06:55 (twelve years ago)

Huh so this Bynum / Pacers thing is actually going to happen *:?

Sources w/the @SL_Skeeters tell me that Tracy McGrady is eyeing pro baseball as a pitcher. CLocked at 91 MPH. Working out for 2 months.

that's like jamie moyer heat tbf

k3vin k., Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:23 (twelve years ago)

why are the pacers actively making their team worse

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:23 (twelve years ago)

lol moyer legitimately threw 83

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:23 (twelve years ago)

Tom Haberstroh ‏@tomhaberstroh 57s
Pacers are +13.2 per 100 possessions with Roy Hibbert on court this season. Just + 1.2 with him sidelined. Andrew Bynum to the rescue?

k3vin k., Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:24 (twelve years ago)

yeah but andrew bynum is terrible

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:26 (twelve years ago)

watching that guy do anything this year was painful

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:26 (twelve years ago)

bynum had some ok games this year, its a long shot but i dont think its out of the question that he cld contribute

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:37 (twelve years ago)

bynum v oden the 2014 eastern conference finals !!!!

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:43 (twelve years ago)

especially when u factor in the cavs disfunction coefficient

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 February 2014 15:54 (twelve years ago)

also theyre are doubling their potential profit via keeping him from the heat

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:00 (twelve years ago)

I think there was talk of McGrady getting a tryout with the Yankees about 10 years ago

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:11 (twelve years ago)

Love this pick-up for most of the same reasons I loved the Beasley/Heat signing-- no risk / worst case scenario they just ask Bynum to go home and collect $1m+, thx for the memories.

He's been a total mess this year so I don't think anyone is expecting much; he had that one fantastic game against Noah, that's about it. If Bynum gives the Pacers any games like that, he'll be worth it. Really as long as he can be someone to spell Hibbert during the playoffs, esp if they can rotate Bynum for offense / Mahinmi for defense, I'll be happy.

Very good chance Bynum still just wants to be at home, taking apart / putting together old telephones. maybe check out local computer homebrew clubs.

Also can't think of anyone off the top of my head, when was the last time an NBA team signed someone just to put him on ice?

geez front row Nugs fans don't get too excited for peak NBA action there.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:40 (twelve years ago)

People tend to react after the fact.

tsrobodo, Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:42 (twelve years ago)

looking to the side and chatting during a fastbreak is nagl tho

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:55 (twelve years ago)

cheerleaders are totally stoked

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 16:56 (twelve years ago)

his offense will probably never be what it was, but it's great to see Bogut back to being the elite defensive anchor he was before his elbow exploded

every time he jumps i get really nervous

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 17:31 (twelve years ago)

he kinda overshot a dunk the other night and got hung up on the rim and i thought for a moment that he was gonna fly forward and let go and fall on his elbow again. His offense has been good over the last few weeks, got that little floater going nicely.

Spottie, Saturday, 1 February 2014 17:45 (twelve years ago)

re: McGrady, I remember some Saturday afternoon type show featuring him meeting Clemens and showing him his stuff. Clemens was impressed.

yeah this was really nervewracking

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:02 (twelve years ago)

I would love if McGrady randomly put together 2-3 seasons as a journeyman pitcher, would be so random and wonderful

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:20 (twelve years ago)

"But I repeat: Stop describing any of these guys as having been snubbed."

I think zach Lowe should maybe take a break from twitter or something, being hounded by insane Knicks/lakers/etc fans has really started to affect his columns and maybe his sanity

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:31 (twelve years ago)

um ibaka is good now

He's been killing it this year and esp lately and not really getting props since he is playing sidekick to an actual supernova right now

i mean he's not getting to the big leagues, maybe he can play semi-pro or something

k3vin k., Saturday, 1 February 2014 19:53 (twelve years ago)

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 20:51 (twelve years ago)

I don't know much about baseball but isn't this a sport where some old fart high school coach made the majors because he realized he still could throw in the 90s? I wouldn't write off a 6'6 great athlete who was a top pitching prospect in high school.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 February 2014 21:06 (twelve years ago)

it would make a world of difference if he was a lefty, as it is cool story but i doubt it amounts to much

probably right. fwiw, beasley seems to have caused zero locker-room problems; let's see how it goes with bynum.

Daniel, Esq 2, Saturday, 1 February 2014 22:12 (twelve years ago)

also beasley can move

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 February 2014 22:21 (twelve years ago)

fwiw it seems like the cavs locker room is still fucked up even without bynum. maybe he just hated it there.

Just a PSA, Lance will be going against Joe Johnson tonight.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 1 February 2014 23:06 (twelve years ago)

epic battle of average players

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 February 2014 23:26 (twelve years ago)

stephenson's average? i dunno.

Ira Winderman ‏@IraHeatBeat -- essence of Heat-Pacers comes down to whether Wade wins his matchups against Stephenson. Not a given anymore.

Daniel, Esq 2, Saturday, 1 February 2014 23:29 (twelve years ago)

i'm....not really sure that's what it comes down to
