more baseless blockbuster speculation:
HOUSTON — The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers have been discussing a deal to trade forward Kevin Garnett for guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

I am so ready for some celtics blockbusters, also the clips would prob be title favorites w that trade
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 February 2013 06:44 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i love when danny goes crazy.
that'd be a good trade possibly a great move for both teams? dk if it puts the clippers ahead of miami but it certainly makes for a fun and weird group.
― Clay, Saturday, 16 February 2013 07:03 (thirteen years ago)
Sweet, gonna cut/paste some of these Dwight/Kobe vignettes and just do a search/replace from Kobe to KD.
Praying that both teams don't really think about it too hard and just say What the Hell and do it. Like, I'd rather not even anticipate what that trade would do; just wanna sit back and watch it happen.

Hahahaha think they're anticipating that this story will get a ton of eyeballs, too many to use the curtains.js script for the story :b

the idea that the lakers would deal dwight for a guy that just tore his ACL has to be the most baseless trade speculation in a really long time
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:30 (thirteen years ago)
yeah it's pretty farfetched
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:37 (thirteen years ago)
garnett for bledsoe and deandre sounds much more plausible tho
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:38 (thirteen years ago)
if i were the clippers i think i'd do that in a heartbeat. they might be the favorites in the west at that point
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:39 (thirteen years ago)
Totally farfetched but exciting just that was (maybe?) floated by either team.
Feel like the Celtics don't do it because they don't need another pg-- think that Bledsoe goes to a team w/o a strong starting pg, and Celtics have two already (assuming Rondo is back by next year).
Not even sure who the starting five would be ... Jordan-Bass-Pierce-Bradley-Bledsoe? Switch in Terry for Bradley and bring Bradley off the bench? I don't know, just think that Bradley is someone you'd want to start grooming right now and pay big bucks in a few years. Not really sure why they'd bend over backwards to get rid of KG for Bledsoe.
― Faried, Spirit Manimal (CompuPost), Saturday, 16 February 2013 19:01 (thirteen years ago)
It doesn't make sense for the Celtics, and it doesn't matter since KG has a no trade clause and won't waive it.

EZ Snappin with the inside info on where KG wants to play
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:08 (thirteen years ago)
My inside info is from press reports after today's all star practice. From Marc Spears on twitter:
"If its up to me I will live and die green," KG said. When reminded its up to him, KG said: "OK then. So what are we talking about it?"
When asked if there was any team or circumstance that he would drop his trade clause for, Kevin Garnett simply said: "No."
― EZ Snappin, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:22 (thirteen years ago)
oh wow so he didn't say "fuck yeah trade me to the clips"
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:27 (thirteen years ago)
i sort of doubt he'll waive it tbh
― k3vin k., Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:34 (thirteen years ago)
KG also says he's retiring and leaving 24m on the table, is that a lock too?
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:34 (thirteen years ago)
why are KG and chauncey best friends?
― k3vin k., Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
They were in Minny together no?
― skeet-skeet-gate (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:54 (thirteen years ago)
oh that's right

west crunch time lineup should be cp3-russ-kobe-durant-blake

agreed that its p ridiculous but its w/in the realm of possibility if the lakers become convinced that a)theyre not making the playoffs and b) dwights leaving in the offseason
― lag∞n, Sunday, 17 February 2013 01:49 (thirteen years ago)
is rondo's torn ACL really worse than Dwight's hole in his spine?
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 February 2013 01:58 (thirteen years ago)
probably it is, but it's not like they're trading a healthy dude here
maybe not but if they wanted to trade dwight they could probably find someone who could actually play within the next 12 months
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:00 (thirteen years ago)
maybe the lakers should try developing their own talent instead of grabbing broken guys who get a lot of all-star votes
― Clay, Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:02 (thirteen years ago)
well they traded all their draft picks for steve nash (broken guy with a a lot of all-star votes) so that might not be possible
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:02 (thirteen years ago)

sometimes wright thompson is a little too much for me but that was fantastic
― call all destroyer, Sunday, 17 February 2013 14:20 (thirteen years ago)
Clippers and Jazz have "a level of mutual interest" in a trade which would send Eric Bledsoe to Utah in exchange for Paul Millsap
― moullet, Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:34 (thirteen years ago)
interesting
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:35 (thirteen years ago)
wtf?
― k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:35 (thirteen years ago)
millsap's a solid player, he's gonna come off the bench? or play the 3? idgi
― k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:36 (thirteen years ago)
clippers should leave a good thing the hell alone imo
― inste grammophon (rogermexico.), Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:36 (thirteen years ago)
paul millsap is pretty amazing
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:37 (thirteen years ago)
well they hate playing deandre in crunch time vs good teams and a millsap-blake frontline would be pretty damn good... def better than what they can throw out there as the alternative
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:38 (thirteen years ago)
"amazing" is not a word i'd use to describe millsap. i mean, he's better than bledsoe right now but the fit is weird. he's 6-8 and doesn't play much taller than that
― k3vin k., Sunday, 17 February 2013 17:41 (thirteen years ago)
but it's like they've spent so long as an org constantly tinkering and filling the holes left when donald sterling refuses to pay anyone beyond their rookie deal that they don't know how to just enjoy having an actual good basketball team for once.
there's a good piece waiting to be written on whatever it was that knocked donald sterling off his donkey and stood him up with the desire in his heart to win it all just once before shuffling off this mortal coil...
