imho it looks good on the lakers but just sort of janky for the nets, not sure why maybe cause the lakers court has colors on it, or it could be the subtleties of the lighting, wouldnt be surprised if Hollywood was better at that sort of thing― lag∞n, Friday, February 15, 2013 9:41 PM (1 minute ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

Think it's the court, which has pretty dark wood and is really shiny. Another reason might be that Barclays is barely ever filled. Combine the empty seats with the lighting and you've got a pretty weird vibe. I bet if an important game ever happens there w/ people actually cheering, it'd be different.
Some of the NY/NJ Nets-game streams have these stat interstitials with absolutely no color but black/grey/white, which makes me irrationally angry.

Should really be an MJ Taking on All Comers 1-on-1 games somewhere in the Saturday All-Star slots.
Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist confessed Friday that Jordan beat him in a one-on-one game."It was hard for me," Kidd-Gilchrist, almost 20, told USA Today before the Rising Stars Challenge rookie-sophomore game at All-Star Weekend. "I lost. I lost to a 50-year-old guy. ... He's the greatest man that ever played the game."Oh, yeah. He's good."How about taking it easy to make the boss look good? The 6-foot-7 rookie out of Kentucky said that wasn't the case."No. I didn't allow him to beat me," he told CSNHouston. "Because that's my boss? Nah."

However, CBSSports.com has learned that the Lakers have engaged in preliminary trade discussions with an unlikely trade partner regarding Howard: their fierce rival, the Boston Celtics. The centerpieces of the possible deal, which hasn't gained any traction, would be Howard and Rajon Rondo.
good luck USA

more baseless blockbuster speculation:
HOUSTON — The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers have been discussing a deal to trade forward Kevin Garnett for guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
― Clay, Saturday, 16 February 2013 06:41 (eleven years ago) link
I am so ready for some celtics blockbusters, also the clips would prob be title favorites w that trade
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 February 2013 06:44 (eleven years ago) link
yeah i love when danny goes crazy.
that'd be a good trade possibly a great move for both teams? dk if it puts the clippers ahead of miami but it certainly makes for a fun and weird group.
― Clay, Saturday, 16 February 2013 07:03 (eleven years ago) link
Sweet, gonna cut/paste some of these Dwight/Kobe vignettes and just do a search/replace from Kobe to KD.
Praying that both teams don't really think about it too hard and just say What the Hell and do it. Like, I'd rather not even anticipate what that trade would do; just wanna sit back and watch it happen.

the idea that the lakers would deal dwight for a guy that just tore his ACL has to be the most baseless trade speculation in a really long time
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:30 (eleven years ago) link
yeah it's pretty farfetched
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:37 (eleven years ago) link
garnett for bledsoe and deandre sounds much more plausible tho
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:38 (eleven years ago) link
if i were the clippers i think i'd do that in a heartbeat. they might be the favorites in the west at that point
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Saturday, 16 February 2013 18:39 (eleven years ago) link
Totally farfetched but exciting just that was (maybe?) floated by either team.
Feel like the Celtics don't do it because they don't need another pg-- think that Bledsoe goes to a team w/o a strong starting pg, and Celtics have two already (assuming Rondo is back by next year).
Not even sure who the starting five would be ... Jordan-Bass-Pierce-Bradley-Bledsoe? Switch in Terry for Bradley and bring Bradley off the bench? I don't know, just think that Bradley is someone you'd want to start grooming right now and pay big bucks in a few years. Not really sure why they'd bend over backwards to get rid of KG for Bledsoe.
― Faried, Spirit Manimal (CompuPost), Saturday, 16 February 2013 19:01 (eleven years ago) link
It doesn't make sense for the Celtics, and it doesn't matter since KG has a no trade clause and won't waive it.

EZ Snappin with the inside info on where KG wants to play
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:08 (eleven years ago) link
My inside info is from press reports after today's all star practice. From Marc Spears on twitter:
"If its up to me I will live and die green," KG said. When reminded its up to him, KG said: "OK then. So what are we talking about it?"
When asked if there was any team or circumstance that he would drop his trade clause for, Kevin Garnett simply said: "No."
― EZ Snappin, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:22 (eleven years ago) link
oh wow so he didn't say "fuck yeah trade me to the clips"
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:27 (eleven years ago) link
i sort of doubt he'll waive it tbh
― k3vin k., Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:34 (eleven years ago) link
KG also says he's retiring and leaving 24m on the table, is that a lock too?
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 16 February 2013 20:34 (eleven years ago) link
why are KG and chauncey best friends?

agreed that its p ridiculous but its w/in the realm of possibility if the lakers become convinced that a)theyre not making the playoffs and b) dwights leaving in the offseason

is rondo's torn ACL really worse than Dwight's hole in his spine?
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 February 2013 01:58 (eleven years ago) link
probably it is, but it's not like they're trading a healthy dude here
maybe not but if they wanted to trade dwight they could probably find someone who could actually play within the next 12 months
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 17 February 2013 02:00 (eleven years ago) link
maybe the lakers should try developing their own talent instead of grabbing broken guys who get a lot of all-star votes

well they traded all their draft picks for steve nash (broken guy with a a lot of all-star votes) so that might not be possible
