go back and watch the last few mins of that game about the Celtics. he stops trying, it's baffling.

hi, Lebron Lost to mavs in what, 7th year in League, when he has 2 perennial all stars w/him
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:43 (thirteen years ago)
sure. and michael was playing with a hall of famer too and didn't even reach the finals until that same point.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:43 (thirteen years ago)
which is why i think their careers will be defined from 1st championship on out. michael got his first and then never lost another one. we'll see if lebron can do the same.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:45 (thirteen years ago)
Glad we're all in agreement, Dirk >>>> Jordan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LeBron, although might need confirmation that Dirk didn't piss his pants at some point, will let the everyone else figure that out.
― ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:45 (thirteen years ago)
style of play before-after MJ changed more than before-after LeBron. what does LeBron do that is particularly creative? yeah seems like his innovation comes from combo of size/speed/coordination.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:45 (thirteen years ago)
well the funny thing is that both dirk and lebron were noted pants pissers until they both figured shit out and went nuclear xp
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:46 (thirteen years ago)
remember when MJ lost his 1st Finals to Magic and then we all forgot about that and decided to judge him from there on out?

just a warning to everyone that tho this might seem like a line of argument that you want to pursue, it will just lead to the same type of discussion we had when granny tried to argue that luol deng was a "more creative scorer" than rajon rondo or w/e that nonsense argument was

OK, awesome, so you actually don't understand that having a top-heavy team bodes very ill for 'ship chances / you're willing to define a whole player's career on one bad 4th Q. against a championship team even though basically all other evidence suggests that LeBron is an amazing playoffs basketball player.
― ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:48 (thirteen years ago)
hmmm yes how is someone who shoots 40% from three and is the best in the nba in the paint and also guards every position on the floor innovative. hmmmm.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:48 (thirteen years ago)
michael got his first and then never lost another one. we'll see if lebron can do the same.
lost another one? and then? there is no "another one" or "and then". there is for LeBron. this is not hard to understand.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:48 (thirteen years ago)
i didn't realize that michael jordan never lost anything ever, i guess i should just back away from this argument because clearly the guy that thinks lebron's first finals was against the mavs is gonna school me here
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:50 (thirteen years ago)
Also Granny you're leaving out that fact that LeBron quit on his team so hard that the dude HAD A TRIPLE DOUBLE IN THE NEXT CAVS/CELTICS GAME so obviously he'd quit on his team by that point.
― ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)
Bulls weren't top heavy???it wasn't one bad 4th quarter, how quickly people seem to have forgotten. there were several 4th quarters. "all other evidence"...see there's no other need to dismiss certain Finals evidence and just focus on the "other evidence" w/MJ. totally willing to disqualify him at the moment (like i said, he's got time to make up for it, but it'll have to be something incredible...4 or 5 more Finals like last year at least) for these bad performances, because there's one player who had a better track record.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)
omg a trip dub no way he couldn't have possibly quit on his team let's just ignore what we all saw w/our own eyes take place in the last couple mins cause hey HAD A TRIPLE DOUBLE
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)
well it's very convenient for danny to frame all of MJ's failures in one way and all of lebron's in another when in reality they both just failed (until they didn't), but it makes for disingenuous arguing
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)
Granny serious question-- r u a Dan Gilbert sock?
― ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
e guy that thinks lebron's first finals was against the mavs is gonna school me here
yes, I think that. That it what I think. Congrats to you for knowing better. Than what I think. Cause I think that was his 1st Finals.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
well that's what you said
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)
right Jord, I'm disingenous. but hey let's ignore these aspects of LeBron's career and just focus on the good things, cumbayah.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)
because it's convenient for your argument to pretend that lebron didn't make a finals in his fourth season
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:57 (thirteen years ago)
maybe I misspoke and meant 1st w/legit team. could be that. but hey let's just think I have no idea LeBron was in Finals. that's really obscure insider hoops info.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:57 (thirteen years ago)
no it's not, it doesn't matter
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)
my entire argument refuted by fact that lebron lost 2 Finals, you got me
so somehow lebron dragging a non-legit team to the finals at age-22 isn't pertinent to this argument at all
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

well don't forget that he isn't "innovative"
i don't think he is as much as MJ was. if you disagree, well you're just wrong. c'est la vie.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)
it's a great accomplishment. but if we're ignoring his loss to the mavs at age 27 w/a legit team, i'm ignoring this k?
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:02 (thirteen years ago)
i'm not ignoring it, but in the end it's going to be a footnote in lebron's career either way.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:02 (thirteen years ago)
either lebron is going to win enough titles from now on out to put him in the conversation with michael OR he's not going to, and those future failures will loom much larger than whatever happened with the mavs
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:03 (thirteen years ago)
and i'm fine with that, personally
footnotes matter now in the discussion. he can make them not matter.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:04 (thirteen years ago)
well sure, but if we accept the premise that the footnotes only matter now because lebron's career is half over, then we probably shouldn't be comparing him to someone who stopped played a decade ago
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:05 (thirteen years ago)
so if he wins 6 total, that Mavs loss won't matter? 7? what if they titles are spread out (MJ won 6 straight when he played full season), and the last 1 or 2 he's not the best player on his team (MJ 6 Finals MVPs)?
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:06 (thirteen years ago)
but what fun is that
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:07 (thirteen years ago)
i don't know! there are a lot of hypotheticals that we could argue about
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:07 (thirteen years ago)
personally i think if lebron equals MJ in championships (even if he loses another finals) then he has a case for best player ever based on what his overall statistical body of work will be
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:08 (thirteen years ago)
it will be a fascinating argument either way. lebron also has a bit of an advantage having never played college.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:09 (thirteen years ago)
i think in the end, jordan will always be the best. lebron will have the best argument against him tho.
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:10 (thirteen years ago)
MJ didn't have any spills, threw in a sweet double sowcow to triple axel combo. LeBron biffed on his 1st jump, so he'll have to do that quad Lyndy to get gold.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:10 (thirteen years ago)
its ugly to hate dirk ppl
― moullet, Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:11 (thirteen years ago)
Lebron still only has one title. He has a long way to go, you know? He's got a lot of work to do before he gets into the Tim Duncan conversation, let alone Jordan.
Obviously his talent suggests that he might get there, but we'll see.
― pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:11 (thirteen years ago)
bron has to enroll in college once he retires from the nba & win @ that level imo
― johnny crunch, Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:18 (thirteen years ago)
smh at the chris palmers itt, titles schmitles
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:33 (thirteen years ago)
you know who's better than lebron, kobe, because he has 5 titles
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:38 (thirteen years ago)
my man!
― ω (carne asada), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
if titles mattered this much then it would be Bill Russell hands down but it's not
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:44 (thirteen years ago)
i mean i get it, when two players are as close as bron and michael are you have to start breaking it down other ways, and that means arbitrary "clutch" stuff and situational statistics. i obviously put less weight into those things than other ppl do
― manti 乒乓 (k3vin k.), Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:45 (thirteen years ago)
pretty sure LeBron would have won some titles in Cleveland if instead of Mo Williams he had Scottie Pippen
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 February 2013 20:47 (thirteen years ago)
