kd & russ were a combined 35-38 from the line tonight. denver as a team was 23-34.

Clay, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:10 (thirteen years ago)

KD's gonna win the scoring title again, sorry kobels

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:12 (thirteen years ago)

btw I hate westbrook but mascot harassment is a time-honored NBA tradition that we should all appreciate

If 65% of the Kings is worth $525m, how much would the Knicks or Lakers pull if Dolan or the Buss family ever decided to sell?

excellent question

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:25 (thirteen years ago)

I can't find the time Rocky was on stilts and Chuck headbutted him in the crotch, that's the best I've seen xp

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:25 (thirteen years ago)

haah

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:25 (thirteen years ago)

btw I think they're not selling 65% for 525, they're just selling 65% at a 525 valuation

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:25 (thirteen years ago)

remember when everyone thought the maloofs were crazy for demanding 500?

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:27 (thirteen years ago)

that would make much more sense if it were the case

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Monday, 21 January 2013 04:27 (thirteen years ago)

that would make more sense, but still

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:27 (thirteen years ago)

fwiw Forbes valued the Knicks and Lakers at around 650m each a couple years ago

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:33 (thirteen years ago)

you got to think theyd sell for more than double that

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2013 04:33 (thirteen years ago)

man didn't that dude get the grizz for only 350 or something?

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

The $525 million price is a "valuation" on the total franchise. For 65 percent, Seattle group would pay approximately $340 million.

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Monday, 21 January 2013 05:25 (thirteen years ago)

well i know i've told this story before but

when i was like 12 or 13 i was a ballboy for the blazers for the back half of the 93-94 season i think, so I was probably 13 actually. Anyways, i was working the suns game and was sitting under the hoop, where we sat, while one of the blazers was shooting free throws. barkley was lined up on the rebound block. i was sort of spacing out, as i often do, and realized a few moments too late that barkley was yelling at me, saying "hey man, toss me a towel." I kind of came out of my spaceout and pointed at myself like 'who, me?' and he said "Yes you, the ugly one, throw me a damn towel!"

16 or so years later he hit on my girlfriend at a charity event so I mean maybe I won that round?

Clay, Monday, 21 January 2013 05:32 (thirteen years ago)

CLAY THAT'S AN AMAZING STORY

Imagine what he might have said about yo' mama!

Aimless, Monday, 21 January 2013 05:55 (thirteen years ago)

idk mostly it always stuck with me b/c i was a 13 year old boy who worshipped basketball players and was uncomfortable about his appearance (as is the case generally with 13 year old boys) and here's one of the world's best, most famous basketball players making me feel really vulnerable and awful about how I look!

but anyways chuck rules.

Clay, Monday, 21 January 2013 05:58 (thirteen years ago)

you should have said "here you go, lard-ass"

in other news, the kings are dead, long live the sonics.

my friend is related to Barkley, has been to family reunions where he's at, says he's a real jackass.
same girl was in HS classes w/Q Richardson, says he was dumb as bricks.

Any other good ballboy stories, Clay?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Monday, 21 January 2013 09:12 (thirteen years ago)

been thinking on it and I can't come up with a lot; that was like almost 20 years ago!*

I do remember shagging balls for Glenn Robinson one night. It was his rookie year and he was the #1 draft pick, and it was well known that he had held out for a 13-year, $100 million deal (eventually getting a 10-year, $68 million deal, but I probably didn't know that, I remember fixating on the $100 million number). That amount of money was obviously utterly absurd to my young mine (that amount of money actually remains absurd to my much older mind). But I remember going after rebounds and passing him the ball and, like, trying to do the math in my head to figure out how many basketballs he could buy if he wanted to, etc.

Also I was really little and they didn't have shoes small enough for me, so I had to wear shoes a a size or so too big and I remember having to learn to run in those things, probably looking ridiculous.

Mostly the job was just about mopping up the sweat of your heroes.
