what happened

Clay, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:28 (thirteen years ago)

knee failed on him at a fastbreak

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:31 (thirteen years ago)

reported as "right knee sprain" by hawks PR.

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:33 (thirteen years ago)

harden with a 25-foot and-1

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:37 (thirteen years ago)

not sure of paul george ceiling

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:40 (thirteen years ago)

xp Hahahaha Harden had tried to flop on two previous 3pt shots w/ no calls. Good positive reinforcement call on that one for Harden staying upright.

Paul George ceiling = TMac with better defense and less explosive scoring, I think.

lol on the feed im watching the pacers announcers are making fun of people in the stands.

ryan, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:41 (thirteen years ago)

(during commercial, obv)

ryan, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:42 (thirteen years ago)

Which feed?!? Seriously when there's 10 stream links for games, I wish they'd say which stations have the feeds. Croshere usually does a lot of talking off-camera.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:44 (thirteen years ago)

it was just the first link for the game at atdhenet.tv

ryan, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:46 (thirteen years ago)

im thinking in pierce, not sure why tho re: george

larry bird did a nice job @ this roster. i like it

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:47 (thirteen years ago)

guys paul george is a nice player but hes never gonna be comparable to tmac or pierce be srs

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:48 (thirteen years ago)

McGrady and George's numbers for their first three seasons are pretty similar, too, w/r/t points/rebounds/assists/steals. Don't think George will ever score more than 23ppg and will definitely never lead the league in scoring. Both of them have a ton of spring, though.

Thx, am gonna change feeds. Got in the habit of using firstrowsports, forget about the other sites sometimes.

rockets getting almost nothing out of the 4 (patterson, morris) lately. really would like to at least see jones or montejunas if its come to this

ryan, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:49 (thirteen years ago)

tmacky things

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:51 (thirteen years ago)

don't know if it's accurate to call harden anything other than a great finisher - the guy shot 70% at the rim last year and 66% this year - but he's definitely kind of unimaginative about it when you watch him a lot. which is kind of the opposite of what you'd think. but almost all his layups are those lefty scoops

yeah wtf matt

― J0rdan S., Saturday, January 19, 2013 1:07 AM (35 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

he inflates his % because instead of having to do difficult finishes he just gets fouled, not that hard to understand really. If you reduced your sample of attempts at the rim to breakaways and easier layups it will be better. This a good skill of his!

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:51 (thirteen years ago)

btw Lamar Odom shot 71% at the rim one year and he's a horrible finisher

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:52 (thirteen years ago)

will beverly soon steal lin minutes?

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:53 (thirteen years ago)

Fuck dude Pendergraph stop it.

mcgrady came straight out of high school, george played two years of college! also use yr eyes, gdamn

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:54 (thirteen years ago)

xpost wasnt really comparing, just "ceiling" lol concept

moullet, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:56 (thirteen years ago)

mcgrady early in his career was a lot like Paul George and then he decided to stop playing defense and become a scorer. I guess it worked out for him, would have been nice to see him do both though.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:57 (thirteen years ago)

wake me when paul george rides a wite boi like this

Eh, don't see how that matters that much; feel like years in league counts for more than a few years in age difference. And again, George will never be the prolific scorer that McGrady was. George's game is more well-rounded though.

My eyes say they play similar styles at roughly the same height/weight!

Gotta give PG a few more years before he starts ridin wites.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:58 (thirteen years ago)

so yeah paul george's numbers are similar to McGrady's fresh out of high school-- but that's when McGrady's defensive numbers were the best!

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:58 (thirteen years ago)

at 19 T-Mac averaged 14-9-4-2-2 per 36

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 01:59 (thirteen years ago)

reminder mcgrady once averaged 32-6-5 w/a per of 31

welp this is where youre going wrong then

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:00 (thirteen years ago)

also in terms of dunking they're pretty close, lag!

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:00 (thirteen years ago)

out of curiosity who are the nba players who are like, top 20 offense and defense (and who also aren't big men)

乒乓, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

did t-mac ever get out of the first round? george might have him on that one already.

Clay, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

McGrady was an efficient scorer for like 3 years, are we saying that's the "real" TMac

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

im thinking in pierce, not sure why tho re: george

lol what is up for the prepositions of this post

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:02 (thirteen years ago)

no tmac never did make it out of the first roud

if anything his already ridiculously high fg% at the rim probably undervalues his efficiency there!

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:04 (thirteen years ago)

66% is not a ridiculously high FG% at the rim

lebron obv, howard when he was good, duncan, younger kg

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

it kind of is for a guard xp

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

lebron is like #1 at offense and defense

― Matt Armstrong, Friday, January 18, 2013 8:51 PM (10 minutes ago)

that really makes no sense, he either finishes or doesnt on the shots he doesnt get fouled on just like everyone else, he doesnt somehow magically chose to get fouled on the shots he wouldve missed and not fouled on the rest - if youre saying he doesnt go for difficult finishes yeah shot selection factors into everyone elses fg% too

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

I think the only guard with comparable rim attempts that shoots a higher percentage is Wade.

EZ Snappin, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

Kevin Martin is shooting 73% at the rim do you think he's a good finisher?

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:09 (thirteen years ago)

cuz if the argument involves Kevin Martin being a good finisher I'll just step aside for a while

he takes 1.5 a game!

EZ Snappin, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

lol

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

as EZ alluded to volume means something

but yeah i agree with your assessment somewhat, he's kind of stealth uncreative at the rim (once he gets there that is)

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:12 (thirteen years ago)

not sure what you guys are complaining about here, does the ball not go in enough, does he not get fouled enough, what exactly is this uncreative

lag∞n, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

what do u want? flair??

Clay, Saturday, 19 January 2013 02:15 (thirteen years ago)

getting fouled on drives enables him to inflate his FG% at the rim because instead of having to attempt difficult layins he just gets fouled. Kevin Martin does the same thing (shot 70% on 3.2 attempts at the rim in Houston one year). Brandon Roy (a better finisher than Harden probably) was really good at it too.

Derrick Williams is an example of a guy who isn't a great finisher but instead of getting fouled he just gets swatted.
