Spike Lee does more dishonour to his ancestors at Knicks games than Tarantino could even dream of.

Only if you're making a ton of additional assumptions.

tsrobodo, who's your team?

Ya Bish Bosch (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 20:22 (thirteen years ago)

thanks am0n (aw shucks got me feeling all welcome and what not)

I'm a Spurs guy. Didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

tsrobodo, atm ilh needs someone to provide energy off the bench, box out consistently, and contribute some extra fouls to our hack-a-dwight strategy. can you do that for us?

Aimless, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 20:39 (thirteen years ago)

tsrobodo, where are you from, where do you reside now, how come you spelled dishonor with a 'u'

乒乓, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 20:39 (thirteen years ago)

You mean the Tottenham Spurs right

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

New here and not sure if that's supposed to be a euphemism sooooo, maybe?

Born in London formerly residing in Houston + Toronto currently in London/Essex. (pretty sure that covers everything)

And yup, I'm most definitely in a hoops thread talking about Tottenham.

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 23:03 (thirteen years ago)

welcome!

xpost Compu, was looking through Pacers stats (http://www.82games.com/1213/1213IND.HTM) and wow, they heavily depend on that starting 5. may be the team that most uses his starting lineup (also POR) or am i wrong?
when Granger comes back they can have one of the best (positive) top 6 in the league?

and this is v fun to sort by net on/off court & production: http://www.82games.com/1213/ROLRTG7.HTM (Andre!)

moullet, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 23:09 (thirteen years ago)

Isn't granger the Rudy Gay of Indiana? I thought I remember CP talking about how they're better off w/o him or he's at least extremely overrated?

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 23:43 (thirteen years ago)

xpost im not his biggest fan but he was +10.1 last year

moullet, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 23:47 (thirteen years ago)

zach lowe today, btw

Indiana Pacers

The lineup: George Hill–Lance Stephenson–Paul George–David West–Roy Hibbert
The numbers: 501 minutes, Indiana's most-used lineup, and the second most-used in the league

The headliner here is Stephenson, who has won Gerald Green's starting spot and lifted Indiana's borderline unwatchable offense close to top-five territory — at least when this one unit is on the floor. Indiana's bench is as awful as it was last season, though in a potentially positive sign, the combination of George and four bench players has done very well in limited minutes, per NBA.com.

Stephenson has been one of the season's nice stories. Once an out-of-control mess with the ball, he's cut his turnover rate dramatically and earned Frank Vogel's trust in the process. Stephenson's a solid rebounder for a guard, and he has the freedom to push the ball after a stop — a nice way for Indiana's grinding offense to find some easy points. Vogel now runs some actual plays for Stephenson in the half court, including traditional high pick-and-rolls, some duck-ins for post-ups, and other pick-and-rolls that come after some creative misdirection. Having a second distributor is helpful for George Hill, who isn't the kind of waterbug point guard who regularly gets deep into the lane. It also allows Hill to work as a spot-up guy.

The net result is a high-scoring lineup that protects the ball (unlike just about every other Indiana lineup) without sacrificing anything on defense or on the glass. Stephenson is still hit-or-miss as a defender, prone to crashing head-on into picks and taking one fatal half-lunge in the wrong direction, but he's making progress every day. At 6-foot-5 with a wingspan a hair longer than 6-foot-10, Stephenson doesn't take away from this lineup's overwhelming collective size.
