I don't really think the Bucks are underperforming (.500 sounds about right for them) so I wonder what drove this. Why now?

frogbs, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 06:11 (thirteen years ago)

Ya Bish Bosch (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 06:14 (thirteen years ago)

every coaches dream backcourt

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 06:15 (thirteen years ago)

it all falls into place when you try to imagine a player he likes

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 06:40 (thirteen years ago)

Especially when you remember that he was a guard.

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 07:11 (thirteen years ago)

always figured that was mcmillan's problem. dude constantly feuded with/aliented his pg's, never had much to say at all about frontcourt guys.

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 07:13 (thirteen years ago)

with like a very obvious if unspoken "why can't these guys just play the why i played damnit" vibe.

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 07:14 (thirteen years ago)

Why now?

3 seasons PHX
4 seasons + 25 games CHI
4 seasons + 32 games MIL

which is funny cuz Skiles wasn't exactly a boy scout

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 08:04 (thirteen years ago)

We're at the tipping point where, instead of it being hard to believe that the Lakers won't make the playoffs, it

may be harder to believe that they will. It sounds crazy for a team with so many veteran stars, but consider: the Nuggets right now are in the 8th spot with a winning percentage of .556. That translates into a 46-win season. Over the last three 82-game seasons, 46 wins is the lowest threshold for making the Western Conference postseason, so it's perfectly reasonable to expect that pace to be the price of admission. For the Lakers to collect 46 wins this season, they have to go 31-18 the rest of the way. That's 31-18 without Dwight Howard or Pau Gasol for the foreseeable future. That's 31-18 for a team that, to date, has played the 19th hardest schedule, which means the rest of the way is going to be tougher, not easier. That's winning darn near two of every three games for an old team -- Kobe's words, not mine -- that is 5-7 overall in back-to-back games and has 10 more to go. I know, Lakers fans, a lot can happen between now and then, the Black Mamba still wears purple-and-gold, etc. For now, it's still harder for me to wrap my head around the Lakers in the lottery than making a charge and sneaking into the postseason, too, but the cold, hard facts suggest otherwise. Might be time to start preparing for that harsh reality.

Ric Bucher lays out the grim reality.

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 10:17 (thirteen years ago)

well I guess I'll accept Phil Jackson as Bucks coach

"That's testy? That's testy?" Celtics rookie Jared Sullinger asek. "I've seen way worse stuff in the '80s and I wasn't even born in the '80s. So, if that's testy, I didn't see it."

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 14:36 (thirteen years ago)

"I'm going to let y'all figure that one out," Rivers said. "I'm going to stay out of that. If it was the playoffs, I'd tell on him, but since it's not, I'm going to just be quiet."

gary washburn@GwashNBAGlobe
If I read Melo's lips correctly, he told Garnett "(Bleep) you (female anatomy)" as they went to the bench for the timeout #celtics #knicks

♨ (am0n), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 15:16 (thirteen years ago)

the internet claims kg said 'lala tastes like honey nut cheerios'

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 15:21 (thirteen years ago)

questionable motor (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 15:22 (thirteen years ago)

that game was inevitable, pierce just always owns the knicks and melo just lost it under kg's playoff-level trash talk

remember when Melo punched Mardy Collins and ran away? He really shouldn't pretend to be the hardman.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 15:25 (thirteen years ago)

i love melo when he is shredding euros as team usa's power forward and hate him as an inefficient un-clutch nba player

questionable motor (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 15:26 (thirteen years ago)

melos having a great year tho, last nights game excepted, garnet and pierce are tough matchups for him

I hate Melo but he's one of the most clutch players ever and stats bear it out.
