#mamabatweets is the best.

I mean after he talks aloud is Kobe like "... mamba has spoken."

Clay, Monday, 7 January 2013 23:48 (thirteen years ago)

"... thus spake mamba."

Clay, Monday, 7 January 2013 23:49 (thirteen years ago)

I imagine Mamba is a separate personality, like Gollum and Smeagol. Mamba scowls and juts out his jaw while Kobe has a cheesy grin and is a wide-eyed NBA innocent.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 7 January 2013 23:52 (thirteen years ago)

as far as routine layups go, durant just had one of the most amazing ones i've ever seen

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 00:14 (thirteen years ago)

sort of hovered sideways for about ten feet and scooped it up and in off the glass with his left hand

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 00:16 (thirteen years ago)

Tommy Heinsohn just had some hilarious comments about the Rondo suspension. "Ludicrous ... [the NBA office] are all Knick fans!"

Snitches get put in ditches.

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:03 (thirteen years ago)

I'm sure he wasn't snitching, he was complaining that they didn't eject Rondo

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:13 (thirteen years ago)

the refs on the court don't do anything about it after the game, he would send the video to the league office if he was snitching

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:14 (thirteen years ago)

Danny Narco more like it.

Ya Bish Bosch (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:14 (thirteen years ago)

$15,000 fine says otherwise. If it wasn't a big enough deal to merit a tech at the time then his only conceivable motivation is saltiness which qualifies as grade A snitching.

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:19 (thirteen years ago)

smd danny ferry

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:34 (thirteen years ago)

questionable motor (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:41 (thirteen years ago)

i don't disagree though- i bet eric gordon gets rolled into some deal somewhere and the brow will be awesome with a year or two under his belt

haha whatever. the rules say Rondo should have been ejected, it was bitching not snitching.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:44 (thirteen years ago)

west is still so crazy hard though. blazers and jazz are going to be better next year. houston might add a piece. lakers who knows. it's hard to make that top 8 in the west!

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:45 (thirteen years ago)

it's pretty good gamesmanship if it costs the c's a game and ends up affecting where the hawks land in the playoff seeding!

questionable motor (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:46 (thirteen years ago)

whoa brow

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:47 (thirteen years ago)

yeah clay you're right. west might have 10 of the top 13 teams

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 01:52 (thirteen years ago)

btw guys i have an interview with the blazers tomorrow, wish me luck!

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:00 (thirteen years ago)

whoa neat!

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

it's really no big deal, just a few hours a week of supplemental income. but i mean as i see it i'll prob be GM before long.

Clay, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:12 (thirteen years ago)

haha whatever. the rules say Rondo should have been ejected, it was bitching not snitching.

Matt, again, I wish to god you knew what you were talking about.

From the NBA rulebook:

d. A technical foul shall be assessed for unsportsmanlike tactics such as:
(1) Disrespectfully addressing an official
(2) Physically contacting an official
(3) Overt actions indicating resentment to a call

There is no mandatory ejection. These are discretionary calls by the referee.

However:

Any player or coach guilty of intentional physical contact with an official shall automatically be suspended without pay for one game. A fine and/or longer period of suspension will result if circumstances so dictate.

After the game, if the league finds the contact is intentional, the penalty explicit in the rule book and is enforced regardless of whatever action the referee took at the time.

Xposts, obv.

And good luck Clay!

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

thunder are down 5 with 3 to play, scotty putting a lineup featuring perk and thabo is definitely the way to go

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:15 (thirteen years ago)

lol whatever durant's just gonna make everything now

fiscal cliff paul (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:15 (thirteen years ago)

Rondo didn't get a technical.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:24 (thirteen years ago)

are you just being deliberately dense or

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:25 (thirteen years ago)

there's no autotechs other than throwing/kicking the ball in the stands, but bumping refs= technical and the ref here fucked up/let it slide and Ferry was right to bitch about it.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:25 (thirteen years ago)

Obviously the ref didn't feel it was disrespectful.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:25 (thirteen years ago)

matt you can just say you were wrong about the rules, it's ok

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:26 (thirteen years ago)

it doesn't say technicals shall be assessed for physical contact with a referee unless the ref thinks the player is cute

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:26 (thirteen years ago)

I was wrong that it's a tech, it can be just a tech yeah

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:27 (thirteen years ago)

yr all forgetting that stern hates rondo, let's be cool

questionable motor (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:27 (thirteen years ago)

and the point of the whole thing is that ferry wasn't "snitching" he was bitching that Rondo didn't get a technical for something that results in a suspension!

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:28 (thirteen years ago)

he wasn't going to the refs and saying "hey guys you should tell your bosses about this I think it's suspendable" he was saying why the fuck didn't you give him a T for something that got him ejected in the playoffs

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:29 (thirteen years ago)

but you're totally right, the rules say it results in a tech, not an ejection, I'm such a fool for conflating the two

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:30 (thirteen years ago)

Yes, in this case you are.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:32 (thirteen years ago)

whether ferry was bitching about a technical or an ejection is a minor point

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:33 (thirteen years ago)

this is about you being a celtics homer sorry your PG is insane bro

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:34 (thirteen years ago)

it's as much about that as it is about you saying things that are wrong as if they're gospel

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:42 (thirteen years ago)

but whatever i'm done it's nbd

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:42 (thirteen years ago)

Re-read the article. He approached the refs after the game and game them a video of the play in question. I'm not a Celtics fan. That is snitching .

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:44 (thirteen years ago)

ftr ferry was absolutely right but he can still go screw

an eagle named "small government" (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 8 January 2013 02:45 (thirteen years ago)

Ferry's been around long enough to know that you send it to the league office, not the refs at the particular game. The only plausible explanation is that he was complaining about the no-call.
