there's a grandiosity to his tweets that makes me wonder if he's bipolar or has Narcissistic P.D.

there's absolutely something going on beyond anxiety with white.

it's weird... i think it's undoubtedly a positive thing that there's a player being this open about his condition and steadfastly standing up for his rights BUT on the other hand i can't imagine that the royce white experience is going to be seen as a positive for another player in that situation moving forward

rockets aren't really saying anything and white's statements are incredibly vague.

as far as i can tell for now, i think his problem is mainly that he thinks the team shouldn't be able to dictate to him things like a d-league assignment without the approval of white's chosen doctors.

which is just, in legal, contract terms, totally wrong

plenty of sympathy for royce but he needs to stop issuing statements and handle any issues he has with the rockets within the organization or go to the league, player's assoc, etc. i don't know what kind of general support network he has but there must be someone (his agent at least?) who can just tell him to cut the public stuff out until they can figure out how he can be in the league

i mean, im kind of assuming the rockets want to see if it can work out otherwise they could have just drafted someone else

yeah obv i dont know anything, and in some ways i sympathize with him too. i can imagine the way an organization is basically in something approximating *total* control of you must be anxiety-producing (probably an anxiety that all non-superstar NBA players feel quite acutely). but, on the other hand, it's not like the rockets are gonna be willing to allow him (or his doctors) to decide whether or not he belongs in the d-league.

pretty much a bad sign, imo, that his latest statement seemed to have been conceived and written by him alone. not sure who has his ear at the moment.

if the rockets were doing something wrong Royce would just say what they're doing wrong. Instead he talks about "mental health protocol."
