― Andrew WKRP (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:19 (thirteen years ago)
Good thing they aren't making Hollinger the GM
― EZ Snappin, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:21 (thirteen years ago)
yeah there's no comparison to the lunacy of hiring Kahn, as much as I dislike Hollinger
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:22 (thirteen years ago)
hiring David Kahn is like hiring a bartender or something
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:23 (thirteen years ago)
Is he just going to be an analyst then?
― Clay, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:24 (thirteen years ago)
i dunno, the bartender at my fav bar in mpls knows his basketball
― Andrew WKRP (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:24 (thirteen years ago)
Glen Taylor asking around for a GM to hire and David Stern suggesting David Kahn. That's a thing that happened.

― Andrew WKRP (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:27 (thirteen years ago)
this is gonna alter my consumption of the nba so dramatically
― salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)
who will fill the vacuum? I'm not sure it's possible.
― Clay, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:34 (thirteen years ago)
yeah idk what espn's gonna do. maybe get haberstroh off the heat beat?
― salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:39 (thirteen years ago)
Maybe Pelton will make the jump.
― Clay, Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:42 (thirteen years ago)
oh that would be awesome
― salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:46 (thirteen years ago)

― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 01:51 (thirteen years ago)
Kidd (still) shooting 50-53-92
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 01:52 (thirteen years ago)
the knicks can't shoot like this all year right?
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 01:53 (thirteen years ago)
ya theres no way, i think the question is what will happen to their ball movement once they start shooting like theyre in reality
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 01:57 (thirteen years ago)
like 6 guys shooting between 5-15 percent above their career 3p% for 30 games, incredible
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:01 (thirteen years ago)
part of it def theyre passing real good and getting better looks but still
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:02 (thirteen years ago)
as long as it lasts long enough for us to LOL lakers tonight i'm cool
― Andrew WKRP (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 14 December 2012 02:03 (thirteen years ago)
are they gonna go lux city for JR this summer?
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:04 (thirteen years ago)
John Hollinger (1:01 PM)
Folks, that's all the time I have, but thanks again for all the great questions -- really enjoy the back and forth with everyone.
...last words

btw reading that final hollinger chat two people brought up the argument the mvp isnt a an award for best player which is just the stupidest fn thought in the world and a good argument for outlawing sportswriting, like people think it wasnt originally just a fancy way of saying best player in the nba, they think one day someone was all hey we should give an award for not the the best player who cares who the best player is lets give one for the player who has the worst backup since that makes so muh sense

i still think they can be real good but obvs a lot of things have to happen
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:30 (thirteen years ago)
mostly health and a return to defensive form from dwight which prob goes under the heading of health too
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:31 (thirteen years ago)
the way theyve assembled the rest of the team is obvs shameful tho
dwight trying to kill melo is one thing that could help i guess
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:45 (thirteen years ago)
netw3rk @netw3rkDwight couldn't bend over for a pretty routine ball going out of bounds. His back is an issue.
yep
the amazing plays are when they're in a zone and someone splits dwight and another guy and dwight can't even touch them
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 02:51 (thirteen years ago)
I think I'd rather go on a 2 hour car ride with Ted Bundy than Dwight Howard
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 14 December 2012 03:00 (thirteen years ago)
hollinger news.
― moullet, Friday, 14 December 2012 03:06 (thirteen years ago)
the lakers defensive rotations are... not good
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 03:35 (thirteen years ago)
that's mighty kind wording.

Barkley just said he prefers to pick the best guy on the team with the best record which is an also flawed but different approach from either of the ones you're suggesting
― drunk 'n' white's elements of style (Hurting 2), Friday, 14 December 2012 03:48 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i heard that, its prob the worst idea of the three
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 03:50 (thirteen years ago)
giving it to bron ten years in a row is just kinda boring i guess, they shoudl eliminate all awards theyre so terrible
― lag∞n, Friday, 14 December 2012 03:51 (thirteen years ago)
bron should go pretentious snob if he doesn't win MVP this yearlike pfft I don't even BELIEVE in ranking value, I prefer a more holistic approach to evaluating players
― shave and a haircut...2 CHAINZ (m bison), Friday, 14 December 2012 03:54 (thirteen years ago)
man i'm just gutted by this hollinger news
― k3vin k., Friday, 14 December 2012 03:55 (thirteen years ago)
reggie miller on lillard: think derrick rose except less explosive and a better shooter
so rose minus his biggest strength and his biggest weakness ok
