phoenix's arena is seriously depressing

It's really old too, needs to be updated inside so badly.
Side note: our neighbors directly behind us have been season ticket holders for yeeeears and are in their mid 80s. All orange apparel hanging from their clothesline all the time, bumper stickers, flags, the works. I think they even have the mascot ape guy over to dinner once in a while. He's taken me to a couple games when his wife couldn't go, awesome people and way passionate about it all. Talked to them a couple weeks before the season started and they were like visibly pissed off about Sarver not making an offer to Grant or Steve. They just couldn't understand it, like Sarver just walked into their house and stole their only child or something. They decided no to re-up their tickets this year and seemed really depressed about it. It was obv the right choice to part ways w Nash/Hill but I just completely forget how invested people get in certain players and what they bring to the community beyond basketball. Part of me wanted to be like uh yeah they shoulda traded Nash two years ago but they may have never talked to me again.

lamarcus aldridge'a shot selection has to be the least efficient in the league.
― Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 05:14 (thirteen years ago)
He seemed to be getting away from only 18 footers last year but seems to have reverted back. Always seemed too scared of contact to be truly great in my eyes.

Yeah I read something the other day about him leading the league in attempted long 2's by more than twice what the next guy (kg) was taking.
― Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 05:23 (thirteen years ago)
They need to trade him already, shoulda happened a couple years back when his stock was sky high and you guys were going no where.
― Luchinski pourin' from the sky, let's get rich (what) (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 05:25 (thirteen years ago)
So, I saw a report on twitter that david kahn was attending the game in.....portland! Dun dun DUN

love for aldridge c'mon do it
― Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 05:39 (thirteen years ago)
Doc is damn good at late game play calling. Easy oop for KG out of a timeout.
thibs said bulls even went over that play pre-game, but c's are "very good at it".

He was a portland beat writer. He's probably still a Blazers fan (helps explain the martell webster trade and the huge Batum offer).

he's awesome. All his problems are just even greater in Kevin Love and everyone loves that guy.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:01 (thirteen years ago)
woulda been fun to see him play alongside Durant and Zach Randolph

8 rpg is fine, not a problem
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:08 (thirteen years ago)
it's nice to have a 20-10 guy, but a 22-8 guy who shoots 50% is pretty great too
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:09 (thirteen years ago)
They are pretty different imo but I would say that their overall value is about the same. I've always felt Love was pretty overrated, never got on the wagon.
― Luchinski pourin' from the sky, let's get rich (what) (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:12 (thirteen years ago)
Love is more than a 20-10 guy now isnt he?
― Luchinski pourin' from the sky, let's get rich (what) (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:15 (thirteen years ago)
he's a 26-13 guy!
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:18 (thirteen years ago)
I mean I just don't get why anyone would care that Aldridge shoots a lot of jumpers if he scores 22 ppg and shoots 50%. He's a really nice player and there's no reason to deal him imo.
it's not like he's Bargnani or something
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:19 (thirteen years ago)
He IS a nice player but he's in his prime and has value and they aren't contending or making the playoffs so rebuild. I just thought a year or two ago his perceived value around the league was higher than his worth. Trade high etc.
― Luchinski pourin' from the sky, let's get rich (what) (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:28 (thirteen years ago)
Eh, Portland's brass firmly believes that one more high draft pick + lillard + batum + Aldridge is a competing team, tha this will be a quick turn-around basically. Given that assumption dumping Aldridge doesn't make sense. But whether it works out is another story.
― Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 06:33 (thirteen years ago)
Illard balling out has been awesome to see so far.

Seriously, the dude is not a winner. How can you not take teams led by Al Jefferson and Jonny Flynn in '09 / Ridnour and Beas in '10 str8 to the NBA Finals?

ok i will defer kevin love is not the single most talented basketball player of the last 20 years
but seriously i don't know what else the guy can do, watch him night in and night out and he's just a great player
― ums (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 16:44 (thirteen years ago)
26.0 PPG13.3 RPG

― ums (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 13 November 2012 16:47 (thirteen years ago)
I never said he wasn't a good/great player, just overrated is all. I would like to be proven wrong though, I like the Wolves roster w Rubio healthy.
