Only 12 months ago, Danny's Celtics were the favorites to win the 2011 NBA title. That didn't stop you from trading your starting center and defensive anchor for a bench player who never fit in and a draft pick you'll almost definitely screw up.

yeah his goal seems to be to make the playoffs as an atlanta-type team for the rest of pierce's contract which is a weird goal

also no mention of the baby for bass trade which im p sure was a good move that happened in the last four years

i was into that celtics column up until he used perk & rondo as his mouthpiece for being butthurt over "sports being a business" or whatever

yah its kinda telling that the whole thing hinges on this supposedly powerful emotional element, because it makes no sense from a basketball pov, Perkins was injured and playing like shit and has continued to be injured and playing like shit while rondo has continued to play at a high level and even improve somewhat

it's hilarious that someone who has almost built his entire identity around concocting "bold" and franchise-altering trades wrote an entire column that boiled down to "the gm of my favorite team made a trade that enforced that sports is a business"
