stu seemed kind of territorial when joel started so it took a while for his charm to come through but i went from not noticing joel was there to really really liking his style, so easygoing, and stu calmed down and they really have a groove now. wtf. god knows we need calm on lakers telecasts. spero is passable, 'professional', all the humor and personality of a young mike tirico . dnw. and i notice he gets all negative and shook when the lakers are down. i hope he jumps ship to espn or something quick if hes such fucking hot shit. i think i have a problem with young announcers, never heard one worth a shit tbh.

lakers getting rid of joel meyers, for spero dedes the radio guy
yeah, this may look like a weak move, but the playoffs are all about matchups and Kupchak is looking ahead here.
― Aimless, Friday, 8 April 2011 17:14 (fifteen years ago)
why the spero hate? I kinda like the dude. normally I cant tell what the fuck is going on listening to basketball on the radio and I get that from spero..
always hated joel

haha i was rly bummmed last night i guess i went into a tailspin at the end i mean spero is alllright but the telecast had a specific vibe i enjoyed and spero is totally not about that vibe from what i've seen. like when chick died it was like "wtf is this?" black cloud for a couple of years, it was just basketball not lakers basketball. life goes on.

gotta love the laker fans yankee-ish approach to their problems - all we need to do is trade for chris paul and dwight and everything is smooth sailing from here on out!
― strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Monday, 9 May 2011 17:31 (fifteen years ago)
Man, the WAY they went out = Lakers brand badly tarnished for a good while. Seriously I'll bet the Bynum and Odom fouls cost them some serious trading leverage.

lol kareem is such a douche:
There are five statues outside the arena recognizing Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Chick Hearn, Wayne Gretzky and Oscar De La Hoya. Abdul-Jabbar believes it's high time the Lakers do the right thing and make him the sixth athlete so honored."I don't understand (it). It's either an oversight or they're taking me for granted," Abdul-Jabbar told The Sporting News in a recent interview. "I'm not going to try to read people's minds, but it doesn't make me happy. It's definitely a slight. I feel slighted."The six-time NBA MVP sounded even more offended in a statement released subsequently by his business manager."I am highly offended by the total lack of acknowledgement of my contribution to Laker success," Abdul-Jabbar was quoted as saying. "I guess being the lynchpin for five world championships is not considered significant enough in terms of being part of Laker history."

He's got a legitimate point, sure, but being "highly offended" is just a sign of not having enough to keep him busy.
― Aimless, Wednesday, 18 May 2011 18:21 (fifteen years ago)
well, yeah, he should get a statue, but who in the world bitches to the media about not having their own statue??
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 18 May 2011 18:22 (fifteen years ago)
