'one shining moment' is so overrated
people act like CBS plays porn on air for 3 minutes
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:31 (fifteen years ago)

― mookieproof, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:31 (fifteen years ago)
In Gchat just now I was playing with something along the lines of "Someone call Michael Vick's lawyer, because this dogfight turned ugly!"
― C-L, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:31 (fifteen years ago)
"oh you're telling me you guys are going to play all this shit that has been on youtube for two whole weeks? and you're gonna have a corny song as a soundtrack? oh that's so cool i can't wait"
i'm putting on colbert, i need some intentional comedy to balance out the last 2 hours
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:32 (fifteen years ago)
haha so if uconn's championship gets vacated, does that mean butler wins the championship?
― symsymsym, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:32 (fifteen years ago)
well i really hope that uconn isn't playing any ineligible players
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:33 (fifteen years ago)
brad stevens should ditch butler btw
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:34 (fifteen years ago)

― VegemiteGrrl, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:51 (fifteen years ago)
ive srsly never watched one shining moment before now
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:53 (fifteen years ago)
one shining moment sounds like a robin sparkles song
― symsymsym, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:54 (fifteen years ago)
I like this year's montage, although they probably should have had a rapid-fire sequence during the title game section of bricked shots, just for sake of accuracy.
xp Whaaaaa? One Shining Moment is awesome
― C-L, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:55 (fifteen years ago)
maybe ive seen parts of it before? idk i never understood it, if you watch enough sportscenter you see all the highlights & it doesnt really improve them to put them in slomo w/ a michael mcdonald song
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 03:59 (fifteen years ago)
Haven't read the ^^ ilh liveblog of the game.
Watched about 70% of it, with the sound off. I think UConn got more rebounds than points in this game. Pretty wtf low shooting % all around.
I give UConn credit for good defense. Most of Butler's shots were rushed, with poor setup and poor form as a result, and that's why they missed a lot of them. But cripes, Butler was even missing their free throws, and you can't say UConn did that.
Quality of this championship game is reminder how young these guys are. Also an obvious byproduct of the nba snatching every promising underclassman for the past decade.
― Aimless, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 04:04 (fifteen years ago)
reminds me a bit of 04 -- 1st game vs duke was tense as hell & good bball, title game vs. ga tech was p bad
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 04:17 (fifteen years ago)
calhoun immediately credits/defends the big east in his press conf
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 04:18 (fifteen years ago)
has there ever been an ncaa champion that did not have a winning record in its own conference? (nc state was 8-6 in the acc in '83, wiki says villanova was 11-8 in the big east in '85)

In a season that was full of surprises, this one turned out to be a dog.

^ OTM
Anyway, one of the best tournaments of my lifetime ends not with a bang but with a whimper. What a crappy game.
I ask again, how much money does Jim Calhoun earn this year because of Kemba Walker? Is his contract public?
― john. a resident of chicago., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 14:24 (fifteen years ago)
y it's public
someone just told me 1m bonus for winning, but not sure abt that

The only people capable of enjoying that ugly train wreck of a game were UConn coach, players and fans. So, enjoy!
― Aimless, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 17:33 (fifteen years ago)
Glad UConn was able to win a title before their three-year probation goes into effect! Good timing.
― reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 18:43 (fifteen years ago)
Thanks for posting, johnny. So, $175,000 bonus for winning )based on his salary, not speaking/appearances). Nothing in there about the Big East tournament that I saw.
― john. a resident of chicago., Tuesday, 5 April 2011 19:04 (fifteen years ago)
wtf guy
in a USA Today online report Tuesday, Northern Arizona coach Mike Adras told the newspaper he gave his No. 1 vote to the Buckeyes.
Adras said he also put Kansas No. 2 before voting for UConn third on his ballot.
"I voted for who I thought was the best team in the country based on the entire body of work during the season," Adras told USA Today. "I believe it is Ohio State. I want to congratulate Connecticut for winning the NCAA tournament. They deserved it."
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 23:53 (fifteen years ago)
