Yeah the concept seems kind of mean and pitying

i need someone who understands this shit to explain the expansion to 68 teams to me

they want to play as many games as possible because they'll make more money but there was a public outrage over them expanding the field to 96 or whatever they wanted to do so i guess they just settled on 68

it doesn't seem to make much sense to me, feel like the ad dollars they make on uab-clemson has to be negligible to the CBS corporation but what do i know

the good thing tho is that it lead to them getting tbs & court tv into the fold so all the games are on TV now, also charles & kenny

it feels really arbitrary that two teams will play each other to be #12, while #s 13, 14, 15, and 16 (in two cases anyway) are slotted into the dance.

yeah i think the problem is that they needed to get better teams into the game aside from "who gets to get blown to pieces by the #1 overall team" but anything over the 12 seed would be punishing some of the better teams -- idk, it's stupid

expansion is so classic "wow everyone loves this great thing!! We should make more money off it and make it ridiculously big and make more money and ultimately destroy the thing that everyone loved about it OMG YESSSSS "

yeah as far as the casual fan is concerned nothing starts until there's exactly 64, so it punishes these teams even more.

no one even bothers incorporating this shit into bracket pools either

Every time one game ends, it is the second half of a close game on another channel. I feel like the four channel thing, the additional schedule staggering, and the Turner Sports guys have somehow combined to improve the best televised sports day in all of televised sports.
