know what's weird to me? that the nba has two rules that distinctly make the game easier than the college game

1. in the nba you get 6 fouls instead of 5
2. in the nba you can advance the ball past half court w/ a time out

you'd think it'd be the other way around

well game is 20 pct longer in nba, get 20 pct more fouls

second is basically to create more scoring, same reason you have defensive 3 seconds in nba and no 5 second rule in nba

Why does UNC suck this year? They don't help each other up when one of them is on the ground and barely acknowledge assists! Didn't UNC invent the point-to-your-teammate while running to the other half of the court? I blame Zeller, who seems to want desperately to be Hansbrough. Would love to see Henson put on another 40 pounds, though. But then he wouldn't be Henson. Sigh. And Kentucky is now THE place for a point guard to go. Seems like it's gonna be a long time before we see another Felton or Lawson. Oh, and Make Your Free Throws.!

Maybe. As an aside, I was at the Illinois game in the next to last row and some kid blew out his vocal chords early in the second half after screaming "Hair-i-Son Barnnnnnes!" over and over and over all game.

I think there are two poles on this team -- epitomized by Zeller, trying to be tough-like-Duke on the one side, and Henson on the other, just wanting to have fun. I'd like to see the latter win out. I think Barnes gets pulled between the two.

ha idk -- generally i have this problem w/ college bball where i can't really get into it until like after the super bowl & the big east is just always on TV and so many of the teams & their rankings are interchangeable to me

like i swear i've seen like 64 games in my lifetime where #6 ranked pitt played #9 ranked syrcause

i'm talking about right now tho - the amount of legit contenders in the conference plus its depth - there's not really an easy game

i mean they're gonna get get at least 10 teams in the dance at this point - whether one of them wins it is kinda irrelevant, arguing that it's not by far the strongest conference would be insane

big 12 is strong too

okay, as a kansas fan i have to say that marcus morris has become a better overall basketball player than i ever hoped he could be. before the season i was worried that ku didn't have a go-to scorer, but it's been marcus throughout. they could have easily lost all of the previous three games before tonight if he hadn't played so well.

big east does seem really strong this season but, yeah, EVERY season commentators constantly talk how awesome the big east is. think it is mostly due to:

1) big east is a giant basketball conference with 16 teams, and people think having 8 tournament teams from the big east is way more impressive than 6 from the big 12/big 10/pac 10/acc/sec.

2) big east is espn's "home" conference and uconn is their home school so the big east seems like it must be more important, and espn has a near monopoly on showing and promoting college bball (not counting the tournament, obv).
