rony seikaly is underrated. he'd be a top 5 center these days easy

yeah, seikaly was pretty decent and fairly agile. keefe was mostly a hustle dude, like a matt harpring but not as strong

rony seikaly is like the vinnie testaverde of the nba.

i'm just trying to remember the c's rosters from the late 80s, early 90s at this point. chock full o'stiffs.
oooh! michael smith!

the #1 draft pick that pretty much made everyone stop listening to red auerbach after 1989:

danny ferry no, he was pretty athletic. shawn bradley is in his own category. i see enforcers like joe kleine (who could hit an open jumpshot occasionally) as very skilled in their own way.
that guy who used to be on sacramento, with the beard. scott something guys like z and vlade divac would be stiffs but for some euro-flair

Despite the career highlight captured in this photo, there is absolutely NO DOUBT that former Timberwolve STOJKO VRANKOVIC was a STIFF:

vlade can't be a stiff, he played in 15 seasons and wound up averaging over 8 boards and almost 12 points a game.
― chicago kevin, Thursday, 29 May 2008 17:49 (sixteen years ago) link
psycho roberts wasn't a stiff either!

― Hubie Brown, Thursday, 29 May 2008 18:07 (sixteen years ago) link
Big Country looked the part, but was actually a decent player until his back gave out.
Vlade edges Seikaly as the best player mentioned here. Neither are anywhere close to a stiff.
― Hubie Brown, Thursday, 29 May 2008 18:08 (sixteen years ago) link
three decent seasons does not a non-stiff make. back troubles only underscore his stiffness.
― m bison, Thursday, 29 May 2008 18:10 (sixteen years ago) link
there were some dark, dark, years where psycho roberts was the sole shining light on some mediocre c's squads. they weren't terrible, they weren't good, they were just kind of there.

Sven Nater almost fit this category, but was just a bit too good to earn the title "big stiff". Gheorghe Muresan, otoh, fits it like a hand in a glove.

I don't think Bonner is a stiff, but one of the most comical moments of the season I saw live was when he tried to D-up Rudy Gay early this season. Pop pulled him after three straight embarrassing scores by Rudy.

Bowie never had an NBA career worth speaking of, but he was a nice person, a hard worker, and did have something to show on court. Too bad his knees never made the transition to the pros.

Not every ex-classmate tracked down to talk about Kavanaugh remembered him as a complete sponge. Former NBA center Chris Dudley, a close friend of Kavanaugh’s at Yale, told the Post: “I went out with him all the time. He never blacked out. Never even close to blacked out.” Turns out, the former Knick might not be the most reliable source about his college years though. In 2010, while running for governor of Oregon as a Republican, he told a local paper that, despite records showing he registered as a Democrat after his freshman year of college, he had no recollection of ever belonging to the party.
