The Unpacking thread (spoilers)

The game. Apologies if there has been discussion and I missed it

Spoil away!!

I loved all the little reveals but I feel like there were probably a few I missed.

Really sweet game

A few things seem clear:

- You're a woman
- You're a visual artist of some kind, maybe a graphic designer
- You have a passing interest in learning music on the ukulele
- You move in with a gym bro and it does not work out (you end up back at home)
- You fall in love with... a woman!
- You get a book published
- You are planning to have a baby

Why doesn't it work out with the gym bro? The only clue I really found is in the diploma, or framed achievement or whatever.. the game doesn't let you put it anywhere except... under the bed!! It feels like this dude is not allowing you to shine.

It was curious how you keep a journal under your pillow but then.. not after the first move? Is there anything else you guys put under your pillow? The pillow was always lift-uppable but I didn't find anything that went there.

I always felt a little wrong about putting stuffed animals on the bed because when you got under the covers they would just fall off... Also, surely no crib manufacturer would recommend putting that many fuzzy toys in a crib. Have these guys not heard of SIDS?? Sheesh

I'm half tempted to go back and play it again but I'm not sure I could handle the amount of socks and underwear that need putting away.

Oh I forgot

- You start to have mobility issues. The cane and the back pain meds appear at the same time iirc.
- You are Jewish (I think?)

haha the toys on the bed irked me precisely because of the impracticality of it

there's a dreidl to unpack in one of the levels i've played so yeah i assumed the protagonist is Jewish

I loved this game. It didn't work out with the gym bro not only because you had no space for the diploma, you hardly had space for anything. I remember being infuriated at being unable to move his stupid posters >:[

The book you publish is a children’s book with a pig character, which calls back to the piggy bank and pig toys the character has hanging around from the first level. I’m guessing it’s illustrated by the main character.

And yeah the fact they have no space for their stuff is why they broke up with gym bro - you really have to work to fit stuff in and you have to hide your degree under the bed!
