Without much further ado, it's Coint & Plick time! Let's pick the best games of 2019, whether they have a title or not.

If it came out in 2019, it's fair game (hah). Console, computer, mobile, handheld, board games, VR, whatever! Try to include all of the ways it was released this year (matters when I am checking the release dates). Also if it was a super-late release last year and didn't receive any votes/noms, I'll consider it for "2019 year of impact" (but please don't just re-nominate something because it didn't place well enough last year).

OK! Start your nominations!

Trials of Mana should be singled out from the collection for 2019 C&P purposes imo, the other 2 games have been available for decades

Cat Quest 2 (PC/PS4/Switch/Xbox One)

add iOS to this! that's how i'm playing it now, via apple arcade

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!šŸ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Thursday, 13 February 2020 02:16 (four days ago) link

There's probably a ton of games of interest on Apple Arcade. I think the most recent Steven Universe RPG game (Unleash the Light) is exclusive to that, among what seems to be 50 billion new puzzle games. I haven't taken the plunge, though

Inmost (ios, switch, pc)

not sure this would be in my list if iā€™d played it on pc or switch but on my phone it was a great dark little platformer, with a neat story viewed via three characters and from different points of time.

Other stuff with good Metacritic ratings:

Asgard's Wrath VR: VR dungeoncrawler with an interesting style.
Avicii Invector: Chill little music game for the EDM crowd. RIP
Children of Morta: Gauntlet, but cute?
Devotion: This PT-like game was removed from Steam because of pressure from China.
Dicey Dungeons: Funny dice-based roguelike
Eliza: Don't really like visual novels but this looks solid.
Green Hell: Survival in the Amazon rf
Ion Fury: Duke Nukem-like
Metro Exodus: Survival shooter? Not my thing but seemed like the other ones had serious fans
Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville: This is a third-person shooter?! Looks like Fortnite.
Sairento VR: Superhot meets Sekiro I guess?
Space Junkies VR: Arena deathmatch with sort of a Running Man vibe
Total War: Three Kingdoms: "A strategy masterpiece." -Polygon
Trine 4: I find these games sort of dull tbqh, but they're always great to look at.
Unity of Command II: More strategy. Looks sort of like Europa Universalis or Risk.
Yuppie Psycho: Sort of like if Tiny Tower was a narrative RPG?
