I have two switches in my house. I bought one digital copy of AC. How does that work?

you can install it on both but you can only play it on one switch at a time

and your save is tied to the console so you'll have a different island on each afaik

Popped into the local JB Hifi to pick up a copy this morning and the place had a small knot of nerds hovering at thr doors til they opened who all dashed in and grabbed their preorders.

i had a great time with it earlier, can't wait to pick it up again tomorrow morning. a house upgrade is coming tomorrow, as well as a new pair of eyeglasses! my island is called Boneyarden.

i also got stung, and sold the wasp nest before realizing i needed it to craft medicine, before realizing i could just buy medicine

because it runs on real time you can't really marathon it any more than you can marathon cooking dinner or whatever

my daughter got the house upgrade today, and the axe and all sorts of other crap. she's a pro

this game rules tbh, i'm not glad i didn't play it before, but i'm glad to have my first time be right now

i will invite people over to my island as soon as i figure out how to do it (unlock it) and spruce the place up a bit

So is that how online works? You make your island, and you can invite internet people over? Does it still work on that follow the leader system, though? Where everyone basically has to do what you do and go where you go and work toward your goals?

Also, what weirdly great timing for the release of this game. Forget the Chinese and the CIA, I'm beginning to think this virus was designed by Nintendo.

the follow the leader system is for local multiplayer where you have one screen. online you can just do whatever on the other players islands, you can't change/destroy/steal their stuff though

one thing i was surprised by: tonight my partner joined my island. i thought she'd see my avatar walking around, but i'm gone! is that normal, or is that just because it's the first night for both of us? it was just kind of weird, like...why would be my tent and possessions be there, but my character is absent from the island?

Man oh man is the online visitor system in Animal Crossing disruptive. 8 slots and each time someone either enters or exits everyone on the host island comes to a complete stop for like 35-90 seconds. Just spent 10 minutes trying to get off a friend’s popular island!

the whole game takes place in the pre-object permanence stage of development, i guess

U guys know you can avoid the wasps if yr quick rite - run (walk and spam b) to the nearest doorway and go inside!

And yeah as far as I can tell going onto other ppls islands only works if you open your gates while playing. Oh! and you have to have a paid Nintendo account too, as me and Nick found out yesterday (luckily I'd already just done a family plan cos of Minecraft).

OMG I havent played this in like a month, Ive missed almost all of the firework nights, and had to TT backwards to catch up. My villagers are all cranky with me and there are FLOWERS EVERYWHERE.

my partner still plays it for about eight hours a week and stops by my house to kill the cockroaches once a month

lol. i bowed out in August. tempted to go back whenever there's a new content update though

i quit when my partner and i broke up and the thought of seeing her mailbox blinking and the villagers asking me where she's been lately was too much
