get TF it's great and if you're leaning towards it already you can't go wrong i'd rate them

TF > Civ 6 > DS > ES

which ES is it tho? Skyrim or Online?

I haven't played Dead Souls but it's pretty similar, difficulty-wise, to Hollow Knight, no?

yeah they don't let you do cloud saves for games where you can savescum perfect gear to use online and i guess Pokemon online battles qualifies as that which sucks because i doubt 90% of people even play it online

Want to give a shoutout to Road Redemption, the best Road Rash clone I’ve ever played which is now available on the eShop. Load times are enraging and I’ve never managed to get past the rooftop levels, but the game is insidiously compelling.

Can't see the kids downloading many games and assume most of those classic NES games take up very little space.

I forgot I have Civ 5 on my Mac, and never really dug it, so I'm guessing Civ 6 won't change all that, I think...

xp sure, amazon has 128gb ones for 20 bucks currently which is a good deal. just avoid offbrands or unreputable sellers for microsd cards as there's a lot of fakes out there

64 is fine if you're mostly buying indie or smaller games digitally, 128 if you're buying a bunch of bigger stuff like zelda xenoblade smash bros which tend to be more in the 12-16gb range each

Got a Switch + Mario Kart + Pokemon for £299 yesterday.

Don't seem to be so many deals around today

theres an eshop sale though its mostly 3rd party stuff i only saw DKC TF on there for nintendo games

UK eshop has more 1st party stuff (Mario, Zelda etc) on sale, I bought the Xenoblade Torna DLC for 1/3 off

Aside from Rabbids for $20 there isn't much for Switch fans this year

Of course I buy Tropical Freeze literally ONE DAY before it goes on sale. OF COURSE.

i caved and bought a switch online which will not arrive until well after the bfriday sales, guess i gotta make an eshop account and buy stuff in advance lol

steamworld dig 2 is the good one. 1 basically feels like a dry run for 2, not necessary to play

Apologies for all the newbie questions but is it right some games can't have more than save file?

If I want to play say, Zelda or Mario once the kids are in bed, is there a way for me to do that without having to use their save file?

I think if you login as a different person, you get a different save file?

some games have multiple saves too i know Mario does. i think zelda you have to change profiles

i thought zelda did? tho i havent played for a few months

you can make multiple saves but i think they're all tied to a single playthrough and if you start a new game they get wiped

To clarify, I'm not accusing anyone in the unfortunate situation of working for Amazon of stealing stuff- by all means, steal my shit if you can get away with it, Amazon will pay for the replacement- just that somehow the largest retailer in the world has a garbage supply chain and that the shipping confirmation/"delivery update"/useless tracking number for an in-house shipping service is probably a series of convenient ass-covering fictions

amazon isn't reliable with nintendo preorders for some reason, have heard the same thing from a lot of people. you can often get a free month of prime if they miss the delivery date and you complain.

do all switch games require two switches if i want to play multiplayer with my kids (like splatoon 2) or does it vary from game to game? are there some that can be played multiplayer with one switch but multiple controllers?

Nearly all Nintendo-published games with multiplayer have local multiplayer; it's a big selling point of the hardware after all. (Ready for local multiplayer anywhere with the joycons!) Splatoon is an exception. But Mario Kart, Mario Party, ARMS, and many indie games have local multiplayer.

yeh there's plenty of local multiplayer games, Mario Kart, Overcooked, Rocket League, Smash of course, Minecraft, Mario Tennis etc. oh and get Snipperclips, that game is awesome.

yeah Splatoon is an exception, i think everything else Nintendo makes has local multiplayer
