I turned off the Mini Ninjas demo before it was over. Cute, but kinda boring imo

if - depending on what size hard drive you got (if you got one), you can now install your games onto it to cut down on the noise a fair bit. Still need to put in the disc for a disc check, but it's probably worth it (50% percent less noise or so?).

NHL '10 demo is dope. I think I'm going to buy my first hockey game since NHL '94!

ok wet demo? unsure. enjoyed it. hated the filmstock tricks, worried about the quicktime events aspect of the final stage but hmmmm

I liked the red filmstock segment a lot! I think the quicktime events were a little dumb but also kinda fun. I'll probably rent that one.

Jeff - thanks for the advice! I had actually only played XBLA games at that point so hadn't even contended with full noise, will definitely use that trick now.

I only have a 20 gig hard drive, and I only have room to install one game (maybe two). It's a drag because the bigger 360 hard drives are absurdly expensive, but I do want to be able to install all my games (and/or possibly buy some of those complete downloads if they get anything good up there that i don't have). Not having to even put a disc in the 360 is my ideal.

Yeah you still need the disc in. I love it though, I haven't had a single disc-reading error since I started installing them on mine, and I used to get loads with certain games.

right, I was referring to the full "retail" 360 game downloads they've started to offer... Nothing I want on there yet (that I don't already have), but I imagine it won't be long until we're able to buy new games this way

I played Beatles Rock Band tonight. It's pretty much exactly what you think it would be. The songs are mostly easy, and the singing is arguably the highlight. It feels a little samey to sing nothing but the same band's songs, though.

we made it to #2 on a few of the B:RB leaderboards. Such fleeting glory.

Friend had B:RB party last night. At times, we had six people playing at once (and others singing along). We hit some of the three-part harmonies, which was frankly quite thrilling for a harmony stan like myself.

Got the dashboard update with facebook and stuff this morning, won't have time to play with it until tomorrow though.

My friends and I played "Abbey Road" from start to finish on RBB and it was mega mega fun.

Those DLC Beatles albums cost WAY too much though. 30-40% more than a remastered CD? When I've already got 3 or 4 of the tracks on the RB disc anyway?

hey anybody else get selected for the new live beta? barely messed with it, but the last.fm support is cool as fuck. will mess with more later, if i don't get totally sucked into "borderlands", which i broke down and bought yesterday.

Yeah, last.fm works pretty well, although I'm unlikely to use it as long as my xbx audio is running through tv speakers. Facebook and twitter work fine but just feel a bit pointless - plugged a USB keyboard in to test them, but don't want to keep it connected permanently and can't see me using those features without it. Handiest thing is probably the fact it can check your facebook friends and prompt you to add them to your live friend list if they have live accounts, but that's really going to be a one-use-only tool...once they're on the live list, there's no reason to go back into facebook.

Should auto update your xbox as soon as you log into live, and then yeah, your basic menu gets an extra "community" tier.

Skyplayer was working briefly yesterday, until they pulled it again. Anyone get a chance to try it? I've not got a standard sky box, so it'd be £15 a month for me. Might give it a one month trial I guess, although I've not fully checked out what channels you get for that.

weird, still not got it, and no word from microsoft either.

I have full sky privileges and max broadband on sky so am fully intending to use it to the max, will report back when it finally kicks off.
