iPhone games (also Ipod Tooch/iPad games too)

Toobz is Pipe Dreams ripoff, right? I never want to see a Pipe Dreams type game again after Bioshock

This is my first post using my new iPhone. Never before have I been so worried about having fat fingers.

They get skinnier, worry not.

Does anyone want to out themselves as an undeniable stan for any of these games? Are any games rated way too high, or too low? If you could only pick a few, which would they be? What's the best value?

F.A.S.T. is a good dumb arcade-style airplane shoot-em-down game. I'd pay a dollar for sure, and maybe 2 or 3, for it.

I just bought Zooloretto for a dollar in a sale that I think is ongoing, but I haven't played it yet. I mention it just b/c of the sale (from $5 I think).

I love Civ:Rev on DS and this is apparently a port of that version, but since I have a DS I won't be getting it for iPhone. It was $5 last week but I guess that was just a sale (from $10 normally). It's $15-$20 on DS last I checked.

The games I've played the most aren't on there. They're Azkend, which is a hex-match-n game with really cool touch control; and Bookworm, the classic PopCap word game. Peggle is an obv. must too, I think.

spider lost in the house or whatever it's called is pretty good

these are all puzzly/strategy/tower games, which reflects both my gaming interests but also waht i feel works best on iphone.

Another action-jrpg, only from the side view. Lots of bits straight out of the SNES, too. Quite talky so far.

squareball is completely wonderful, but quite tricky. it's like breakout married an 8-bit platformer.

I'm really not sold on the ipod/Touch as a good gaming platform mainly due to the touch screen control quality, but anyone tried Hook Champ? It's this Umihara Kaiwase/Bionic Commando-type grappling hook platformer, works astonishingly well.

I dig it 2 is great.

the game gets more fun the more you fuck up, which sounds weird, but youll have to trust me on this

I stopped playing drop7 after realizing that no matter how well you play there's always going to be an element of randomness that controls how successful your combos are; not as satisfying as tetris imo

anyone else played Sword & Poker? it's like Puzzle Quest crossed with (wait for it) poker. it's really really really really really great, too.

Yeah that's pretty fun. Never played puzzle quest so can't compare, but certainly worth 59p.

Gravity high score 57! Woo. This makes the train a little more bearable.

Dark Nebula is free this weekend and worth a look. Labyrinth-style game but with guns, good fun but pretty short (I dl'd on Fri and finished today, but then I do have multiple assignments due so it's obviously the perfect time to be playing iphone games...)
