― BOO LIAR BEN KONOP BOO BAD BOO BEN KONOP BOO (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 13 August 2009 22:03 (sixteen years ago)
oh man my wrists hurt.
the difficulty curve on this is beautiful. easy is just put the hammer down and learn to balance; medium is finesse, letting go of the throttle from time to time, and learning the tracks; and hard is pure technique.
― ledge, Thursday, 13 August 2009 22:22 (sixteen years ago)
how come only czn's scores show up for me? i'm pals with forks n justen.
― ledge, Thursday, 13 August 2009 23:21 (sixteen years ago)

― BOO LIAR BEN KONOP BOO BAD BOO BEN KONOP BOO (forksclovetofu), Friday, 14 August 2009 05:08 (sixteen years ago)
this game is designed to make the tiny ocd part of my brain take over and keep me up all night, so i am going to opt out.
― genereal disease (jjjusten), Friday, 14 August 2009 06:10 (sixteen years ago)
Trials HD is definitely the new king of "just one more" gameplay, thanks to the leaderboards (and having friends actually playing it, unlike on PC), plus instant restarts and the generous checkpoint system. I just beat the 3rd hard level in 8+ minutes and 95 restarts, then watched the #1 replay just roll through it with no faults in 39 seconds = mind blown.
Any advice on the hill climb mini game? For whatever reason I can't even get the bronze 50 meters...
Defnitely enjoy the easier tracks, where it's much more about speed and balance and crazy jumps, but there's a certain thrill to struggling through the more difficult stuff too.
Hoping to try out the track editor over the weekend
― Jeff LeVine, Friday, 14 August 2009 06:31 (sixteen years ago)
do not beat my scores any of you, else you will be removed from my friends list so I can remain number one in my mind forever
I am warning yous!
― cozwn, Friday, 14 August 2009 07:02 (sixteen years ago)
No worries, I have retreated to the warm embrace of beating all the clear every peg challenges on peggle.
― genereal disease (jjjusten), Friday, 14 August 2009 07:27 (sixteen years ago)
OK bitches gauntlet thrown
hard 1 - rise & fall - 00:47.406, no faults

― cozwn, Friday, 14 August 2009 11:38 (sixteen years ago)
Hill climb: you have to straighten the bike out and keep it in low gear the whole way up. I think I almost hit the top when I spun out.
― BOO LIAR BEN KONOP BOO BAD BOO BEN KONOP BOO (forksclovetofu), Friday, 14 August 2009 13:42 (sixteen years ago)
game is worse than crack cos at least u have to go out and get crack
― cozwn, Friday, 14 August 2009 13:59 (sixteen years ago)
Probably worth its own thread at this point:Trials HD - "worse than crack cuz u gotta go out and get crack"

hoooo boy this demo of call of juarez suuuuuucccks
― genereal disease (jjjusten), Monday, 17 August 2009 06:27 (sixteen years ago)
agreed. Love the arkham demo though!
― what a horribly formed "joke"! (forksclovetofu), Monday, 17 August 2009 13:28 (sixteen years ago)
i got a copy of the call of juarez prequel 'bond of blood' or whatever and it is incredibly boring. not to mention you play as a southerner in the civil war...
― bnw, Monday, 17 August 2009 16:50 (sixteen years ago)
any game with bullet-time events can fuck right off imho
― what a horribly formed "joke"! (forksclovetofu), Monday, 17 August 2009 18:06 (sixteen years ago)
I found the first one boring and was hoping this one would be a little better-- I read a good review of it, where, on Joystiq?
I still think there's a great Western game out there to be made. Maybe this new Red Dead game will be it?
― antexit, Monday, 17 August 2009 20:04 (sixteen years ago)
ok super down with the mini-ninjas demo. this could be great i think.

Battlefield 1943
― JimD, Saturday, 22 August 2009 10:05 (sixteen years ago)
xxp not that I've played the demo for Mini Ninjas but I've been awaiting that game ever since I saw a video of its gameplay. I think it comes out sept 1. I'll know then by reviews whether or not I will finally purchase a new game for any system... probably will get mini ninjas on wii..
― CaptainLorax, Saturday, 22 August 2009 14:10 (sixteen years ago)
I just got one of these recently, am iforry72 if anyone wants to add me. It's so noisy! I guess I will sign up for gold live soon as well.
― if, Monday, 24 August 2009 22:09 (sixteen years ago)
I turned off the Mini Ninjas demo before it was over. Cute, but kinda boring imo
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Monday, 24 August 2009 22:21 (sixteen years ago)
if - depending on what size hard drive you got (if you got one), you can now install your games onto it to cut down on the noise a fair bit. Still need to put in the disc for a disc check, but it's probably worth it (50% percent less noise or so?).
― Jeff LeVine, Monday, 24 August 2009 22:31 (sixteen years ago)
NHL '10 demo is dope. I think I'm going to buy my first hockey game since NHL '94!
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 26 August 2009 03:44 (sixteen years ago)
ok wet demo? unsure. enjoyed it. hated the filmstock tricks, worried about the quicktime events aspect of the final stage but hmmmm
― please link to them and breathe into a paper bag (jjjusten), Wednesday, 26 August 2009 07:19 (sixteen years ago)
I liked the red filmstock segment a lot! I think the quicktime events were a little dumb but also kinda fun. I'll probably rent that one.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 27 August 2009 08:09 (sixteen years ago)
oh no, the red was cool, i was just meh towards the grain/cel damage tricks
― A DOG, A BARREL... RIDICULOUS! (jjjusten), Thursday, 27 August 2009 14:44 (sixteen years ago)
Jeff - thanks for the advice! I had actually only played XBLA games at that point so hadn't even contended with full noise, will definitely use that trick now.
― if, Thursday, 27 August 2009 16:09 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, it's a lot quieter if - and games load quicker too and play better ime
― cozwn, Thursday, 27 August 2009 16:13 (sixteen years ago)
I only have a 20 gig hard drive, and I only have room to install one game (maybe two). It's a drag because the bigger 360 hard drives are absurdly expensive, but I do want to be able to install all my games (and/or possibly buy some of those complete downloads if they get anything good up there that i don't have). Not having to even put a disc in the 360 is my ideal.
― Jeff LeVine, Thursday, 27 August 2009 16:24 (sixteen years ago)
some games are nearly unplayable w/out installing - the framerate on mass effect and skate.2 after you've installed them is exponentially better
