Also agree a bit on burnout though, but maybe from a different angle. I usually try to complete as many quests as possible before doing final bosses, so this game feels... insurmountable. My moments of burnout come from feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff still to do.

Yeah I just got the master sword and I find myself calculating “how much” of the game I want to do before sticking to the main quest and finishing it.

I’m mostly finding the shrines easier, but I’d never played a puzzle based game before BOTW so the experience I had playing that has helped massively.

Some stuff feels easier than BOTW simply due to the mechanics available - like how easy it is to get on top of a Talus now (though I feel weird going up its bum).

I'm only 2 sages down, and somehow I've managed to stumble on the Mineru build-a-bear body quest by accident. I guess I thought "whats up in this cloud thing?"

I've triggered her speaking to me but not started assembling her yet and googling seems to suggest I should prob back off and do other stuff? Like, am I meant to go to actual Hyrule Castle mid game?

The option to do things in any order and play the game in a way that fits your personality is part of the deal. Just like in BOTW, you can go fight the final boss at any time without doing any of the other quests / dungeons. Personally I ended up playing through all main quests because I wanted to experience the adventure

That said, if you want to play through all main quests then you will need to go to Hyrule Castle at some point after getting the 4 sages - and if you want to do things "in order" then yeah do it before Mineru's quest

i did the main quests in order but i also went to the castle at the beginning just to see what was going on, make sure no one stole anything

I do a couple of the main quest parts and then basically explore and do everything else before finishing.

still havent completed the yiga storyline figured id stumble upon it but i have not dont tell me tho

its funny how everyone you run into in the underworld is yiga all wow you tricked me again

finished 4th temple, all good except fire one which I got bored of and just climbed up. I liked that the journey to most of the temples was a big part of them. going to do some spelunking next, mapping out the depths while listening to podcasts is a great way to waste a couple of hours (or six)

love to ride the hover bike from root root through the depths

how big a thing can i build with ultrahand, can i play bokoblin tower defense

probably for the best early game, i'm still not that far along (maybe like 30% map explored between the 3 levels) and i'm never at a shortage of steering sticks

(tarrey town spoilers) something i haven't seen enough people talking about: the monster diorama feature is so cool. when i first showed my bokoblin picture i figured at best it would recreate, at best, a black bokoblin model maybe carrying the same weapon because we know the camera captures weapon info too... it not only recreated that, it recreated the boko's stone armor and exact pose! i'd really like to know how it works, whether it's a 1:1 recreation of the picture i took or an approximation of where the active animation was... i have three pictures of a horriblin doing its ouchy-butt animation, i should see if it would result in 3 slightly different models

though i guess it's not far off from what the recall ability does. it's just nutty to me what this game is capable of handling on switch hardware.

Water temple down. It was the easiest one of the lot so far, and the low gravity everywhere was doing my head in. Sporinging around, floating in big bubbles... fun!

I took advice someone mentioned either here or on reddit and conjured up a hydrant for the boss fight and just sprayed wildly all about. Worked well enough.

Sporinging? I meant sproinging. Which still isn't a word, I suppose.

Maaaaaan. I just realized that you can put ANY zonai thingies in the gumball machines, including the little robot dude’s horn. I thought they only took charges.

Also, I have spent far too many resources getting to the top of extremely talk sky islands only to realize that it’s a test and a robot dude at the bottom would have sent me there easily.

Anyone else found things that they were slow to pick up on? C’mon, make me feel less stupid please.

I promise I'm dumber than you. Last night I tried to get to a labyrinth way up there using a hot air balloon with rockets attached to the base. Failed. Tonight, I'll try adding more rockets.

I'm so dumb I spent an hour in those caves looking for the mushrooms the guy at the tower had talked about, thinking they were important or something lol.

Ha. I did the same in reverse if you mean Courage Island. I sailed over it and dropped onto the higher rings, then spent 10 mins running round each ring, dropping down, etc, wondering why the fuck there was nothing on any of them.

BTW: it is fcking impossible to do that dive in 20 seconds.

for those building balloons, i’ve found the zonai flame emitters to be the most effective lifting tool

dumbest thing i've done so far: when i got to the water temple, i basically "solved" all of the puzzles to access the water wheels but couldn't get any of the water wheels to actually activate. for a while i thought maybe you had to redirect the bubbles to turn the water wheel so i was trying to ultrahand all this stuff to make a course to send the bubbles to the water wheels. it turns out i had just never clicked on whatever i needed to click on in the main area to make sidon follow me around and give me access to his powers

it took me a while to figure out that sidon's power doesn't just form a protective bubble, but also lets you shoot water

NA I did exactly the same thing! I was messing with those zonai faucet things to try and make them turn for far too long

Yes! I did the water level first and COULD NOT figure out how to make those things turn. Eventually I broke down and turned to the internet and felt stupid.

I saw a YouTube video where someone Ultrahanded a thick stick to the side of a balloon, just above a flame emitter. The stick keeps burning after the emitter runs out and burns long enough for the emitter to recharge.

There is a schematic for a dirigible that does something similar with torches

they should let you upgrade the wing and balloon duration
