yeah not much for me otherwise, but i definitely went from disappointed its not a 3d mario to hype over the course of taht trailer so well done

As someone who hasn't played any since the first, are 2 and 3 really worth going through, or it is the kind of thing where I should just wait for part 4? The games seem incrementally designed

yes v incrementally designed. 2 and 3 are really good games and well worth playing, but you might as well just wait for 4.

dont think theres any rumors about prime 4 its total radio silence there still. theres been rumblings of a new donkey kong game for a while thats the only thing i know

yeh I'm not getting my hopes up really, probably moved MP4 to Switch 2 launch.
expecting a lot of ports in this direct which I'm ok with at the end of a gen.

yeah not sure what there even is left for them to do this gen besides DK unless theyve decided they dont hate f-zero anymore. everythiung else has a game or two

as always would love to see a totally new first or second party thing. have they even put out a new IP game since astral chain

Yeah I dunno, everyone always thinks they want new Nintendo IP but then they release stuff like Arms and it’s like, ok actually, just give us another Mariokart.

DS/wii era is my nintendo blind spot theres so many smaller games like that that passed me by

it was a short chill adventure game, simple puzzles but v atmospheric.
iirc one of the puzzles was solved by closing the DS to "copy" something from one screen to the other, wonder how they'll deal with that in this remake.

Anyone going to play Wonder? Getting great reviews. Downloaded but haven’t played yet.

I don't really touch the Switch, with the exception of Mario Kart with the fam, and I don't think I've bought a game since Luigi's Mansion 3, but the enthusiasm and sheer joy of these reviews makes me want to get this one.

not a priority game for me like a 3d mario would be but i'll get to it for sure

planning to use a voucher on this eventually. Watched a bit of Ryu's stream, and it looks like a good time.

just grabbed it and it's loads of fun so far. so each level has an "acid trip" flower? that's really neat - the one on the second level made my kids laugh the entire time it was going. I've really loved all the new 2D Mario games but this is the first one that really does feel like something new. kind of.

speaking of is the Mario voice actor different now? he sounds a little off. I know Charles Martinet had gotten "retired" but I thought he was still doing this one.

That serenade was great.

This game is beautiful, one of the freshest coats of polish you'll see in gaming this year

Will get it eventually, but I'm being tempted away to purchase Spider-Man 2 instead since they came out the same day

Good deep dive technical review comparing the various elements of the game design to previous iterations. The attention to detail in Wonder is just immaculate.

What it reminds me of is being a kid and playing Super Mario World or Mario 64 for the first time l, where it doesn’t feel like a sequel or a facelift but rather as though everything is built from scratch. There are a lot of fun moments in how it lets you do things you couldn’t do in other Mario games. Plus nearly all the enemies are new. The Wonder Flower thing is incredible, just not knowing what’s going to happen because everything’s on the table. And yes it looks amazing, extremely colorful without looking like rainbow vomit. Reminds me of Yoshis Island actually

Hard to get used to the flowers talking though, feel like no real speech is kind of a rule in these games. Outside of “so long gay Bowser” of course
