if you want to play the switch you gotta buy switch new one comes out in what a year at the soonest its a year and half before you can even get one i mean

Shrines were fine. I didn't mind the concept tbh

shrines were fine yeah its just the divine beasts were like 20% the size of an OoT or wind waker dungeon which was a bit disappointing when you realized that they were gonna be the closest equivalent

the shrines/beasts were just kind of empty and sterile not a lot going on in there and most of the puzzles were not particularly fun or memorable, i did like moving the elephant trunk, hyrule castle was the most dungeony thing in the game

I like the shrines idk

botw was good for wandering around looking at stuff but the meat of the linear progression bosses shrines etc wasnt that cool imho, i did like the master sword trials and the part of the dlc with the one wit obliterator both of those required you to actually try to be good at the game

i liked getting all the outfits and all the outfits for the horses

Maybe a s/h one? They don't seem much cheaper. It's, as I say, because I've foudn there are games I have on my PS that I don't play because they're not big action games - puzzlers, retro-RPGs and platformers etc

idk i think 'trying to be good at the game' has never been a zelda thing the combat has always been a bit janky. which is fine zelda's an adventure game not a character action game

yeah clearly its not an integral part of the game but it is good and fun in this case, tho the getting good in the master sword trials is more about planning your attack than being good at the mechanics, im sure if youre really good at the mechanics it is easier, the only mechanic i ever got good at was the shield parry

from battling lynels and guardians of course, i like to kill and plunder those guys, same for taluses

my only wish for TOTK is that the word "Hookshot" appear onscreen while the item-get fanfare plays

Hmm, I don't know why I thought not being backwards compatible was a Nintendo thing. Maybe because they've had so many goofy systems/cartridges? Anyway, I hope the new one, whenever it arrives, still plays Switch games!

climbing kinda killed the hookshot's purpose sadly. everyone loves the hookshot

Hookshot would allow you to jump over wet surfaces instead of failing to climb them

they should introduce climbing gloves in the new game (allows you to climb wet things) (first thing you get)

As someone who hasn't played any since the first, are 2 and 3 really worth going through, or it is the kind of thing where I should just wait for part 4? The games seem incrementally designed

yes v incrementally designed. 2 and 3 are really good games and well worth playing, but you might as well just wait for 4.

yeh I'm not getting my hopes up really, probably moved MP4 to Switch 2 launch.
expecting a lot of ports in this direct which I'm ok with at the end of a gen.

yeah not sure what there even is left for them to do this gen besides DK unless theyve decided they dont hate f-zero anymore. everythiung else has a game or two
