Just discovered Super Mario 3D World again. It's been on my Switch since the day it came out, only played once. It's fucken good!

i just did a replay of it tho i never totally finished it i guess i didnt realize there was the crown world, anyway i am on the very last level champions road, very excellent game imho

I played it a ton with my son on the Wii U - is there a reason to get Bowser's Fury? I'm not really clear on if it's the same game or not.

And yes, I agree it's excellent - maybe the best sidescrolling (sort of) Mario there is?

Ninja Hideaway mario kart is nuts

Bowser's Fury is like a 3D World DLC, it's very good. Apparently it takes about 4 hours to finish if you're a games journalist, so I'm guessing a couple weeks for a normal person.

Ninja Hideaway is really the star of the first Mario Kart dlc batch. Having a bunch based on cities is a fun concept too though.

I forgot how punishing 150cc is in this game (for me anyway). I never did manage to find an ideal character/cart combo for that mode.

I’ve been sucked into playing MarioKart Tour for the last couple years. It’s cool to see some of the tracks from there getting the full Switch treatment.

Anyone played pikmin 3 deluxe? Currently considering whether it is worth $30AUD.

The demo was fun. It's barely different from Pikmin 1, just better graphics. If you want Pikmin, it's exactly what you want, but no surprises.

I can't imagine Switch Sports being a better party game than Shredder's Revenge

haven't played either, but having played the predecessors of each, i would guess it very much depends on who is attending the party. Shredders revenge = people who enjoyed playing old beat em ups in the arcade, Switch Sports = everyone who is willing to play a game

i say all this hypothetically, as someone who attended a party about 24 years ago

party games arent really played at parties right it just means there are more than two people playing a game

I've been playing my Switch for the first time in months, and I know it's partly because the games aren't huge, but it's so snappy, the UI is great, and the pro controller's battery rules.

I got Shredder’s Revenge on thee Switch and am hoping to have some buds get in on it this weekend. Played through it last night then did a few online matches. It’s cool that 6 players is an option but in practice it’s just kinda pure chaos and you spend half the time trying to find where you are.

Great presentation, but mechanically seems sloppier and a lil less engaging than Streets of Rage 4 (same publisher). Still a good time.

Been grinding out Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Great stuff, catnip for Three Houses fans, and it's been a good while since I sat down and enjoyed a meaty single player campaign. Forgot how addictive the Musou formula can be.

eshop has a sale on a bunch of multiplayer games rn - at least in UK. I got drink more glurp for £1.03!! it's a fairly quick and goofy pass-the-pad physics game, good fun for a few rounds with a small group.

Maybe they will add some old levels to Mario Kart, new characters to Smash Bros., and announce that they are only a couple of years out from Zelda 2 and Metroid Prime 4.

Splatoon 3 just sold 3.5 million in three days in Japan, biggest game launch there ever.

I bought the previous splatoon a while back and could never get used to the damn controls.

my kids were so hyped for that, they'd been talking about it for like the past year
i played a little of the new one, it seems exactly like splatoon 2? like "new" characters and levels but no appreciable difference in gameplay or graphics or anything

i also struggle with the controls, i end up mostly using the right joystick to look around instead of tilting the controller
