Love to hear his disturbingly specific memories of his early '80s childhood renting NES games from the video store, very resonant for me

He has beyond photographic memory, he said something like "I remember everything that's ever happened to me and I hate it"
― lukas, Thursday, 8 April 2021 21:35 (five years ago)
theres a vid where he describes the first hour or so of link's awakening screen by screen from memory
― ciderpress, Thursday, 8 April 2021 22:12 (five years ago)
I assume everyone who's ever written a memoir has that strong of a memory, if I wrote a memoir it'd be all "I suppose I went to school…I had some birthday parties…"

latest updates have been wild
― intern at pelican brief consulting (Simon H.), Thursday, 8 July 2021 22:40 (four years ago)
go through this thread if you like tim rogers
i made a massive patreon post about this, so here's the tiny twitter version: the cyberpunk video is REAL GOOD (and huge). it's gonna take another month. it's the best thing i've ever made, so please wait a little longer so i can finesse it! expect it week one of august. pic.twitter.com/RYUJc8VIqX— tim rogers (@108) July 6, 2021

"i played 110 video games total for this review" lol
glad to hear the 'season 2' reviews are going to be shorter, i still much prefer his old 20-40 min kotaku videos to the new 3 hour format. 20 mins is still a lot of content!
― ciderpress, Thursday, 8 July 2021 23:26 (four years ago)
Yeah, all of that seems like good news!
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Thursday, 8 July 2021 23:37 (four years ago)
I'm stoked
― Clara Lemlich stan account (silby), Friday, 9 July 2021 00:15 (four years ago)
about season 2 and that he has finally forced himself to only work 40 hour weeks but also for whatever the hell this cyberpunk review will be
― Clara Lemlich stan account (silby), Friday, 9 July 2021 00:16 (four years ago)
ciderpress I hear u and you're right but also the tokimemo review was worth every stinking minute
also i'm sure shorter videos still means like an hour long at this point
― ciderpress, Friday, 9 July 2021 00:24 (four years ago)
yeah

Can't wait. Action Button was the best discovery from the 2020 "TV" poll!

New episode 10/10 at 10. So this is gonna be 10 hours, huh
next sunday is october tenth. i don't care if you're from the united states OR kingdom: that is the best possible day for me, a Video Game Critiquer, to release a hideously massive video review of @CyberpunkGame. i will take no further questions. sunday 10/10, 10am eastern. pic.twitter.com/UqxmtIEKGv— tim rogers (@108) October 1, 2021

per patreon - tomorrow, 6pm eastern, opening segment on twitch.tv/actionbutton and once that's done airing (including a twist?!), the entirety of it goes up on the YT. sounds like it's split into two vids due to processing issues. but i think it's really real this time!
― Kompakt Total Landscaping (Will M.), Monday, 25 October 2021 22:17 (four years ago)
i hope the twist is that he decided to review a different game
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 26 October 2021 00:19 (four years ago)
lol the stream didn’t even show up until almost 20 minutes in, and then there was a big STAND BY screen until almost 6:30, and now he’s… drinking a Coke

chapter 1’s killing me
― mh, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 01:12 (four years ago)
spoiler: he does talk about how keanu reeves is great, and should not be blamed for anything, for 28 minutes :)
― mh, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 01:16 (four years ago)
any time the development team size is mentioned (“cyberpunk’s development team was 1/4th the size of rockstar games’ for red redemption 2’s development team”) it absolutely boggles my mind that they were planning on hitting all platforms on launch
jesus christ wtf
― mh, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 02:43 (four years ago)
absolutely in awe of tim’s gaming rig. it’s the only system capable of capturing the cyberpunk footage we crave tbh
― mh, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 14:02 (four years ago)
i'm gonna follow the instructions and watch parts 5 and 6
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 15:23 (four years ago)

lol got the bad ending
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 15:51 (four years ago)
So the first hour is truly just the intro, huh
― change display name (Jordan), Wednesday, 27 October 2021 16:03 (four years ago)
the bad ending turned into the true ending, now i have permission to watch the whole thing
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 16:03 (four years ago)
Apparently in part 5 he says the 'pick 2 parts' thing was just to quell people complaining about length lol
― ✖, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 16:11 (four years ago)
shhh dont spoil it lol
anyway i watched 1-6-7-5 bc i was feeling naughty i was like "the short one, as a treat"
― Kompakt Total Landscaping (Will M.), Thursday, 28 October 2021 00:35 (four years ago)
Half ass watched intro-1-6-end and really enjoyed it. I think doing other stuff was kinda the way to go here, it's not super deep and pausing every couple of minutes to read too much text on the screen often kinda kills the flow of these videos for me (am I meant to do that on a supposed second play or something?). and giving my undivided attention to the hour on jackets and watches would've kinda pissed me off. This way, it was just funny.
Of course I will watch the other segments sometime. The only-watch-two thing was just dumb enough for me to indulge. What rationale did he even try to give? Uh, there's a lot of repetition and stuff? lol. I guess he's interested to see which bits rack up the most hits.
I don't think I could like anything more than his Tokimeki Memorial episode.
― maf you one two (maffew12), Thursday, 28 October 2021 00:42 (four years ago)
jackets and *glasses
Part 3 is great
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Thursday, 28 October 2021 17:43 (four years ago)
lol what's the opposite of a speed run? Because that's what this is so far.
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 28 October 2021 18:10 (four years ago)
Anyway, there's a meta perfection to his approach, because as far as I'm concerned youtube is where I go to watch and/or enjoy alternate endings to or plot branching in games I'm too lazy or exhausted to play more than once to get every ending (that is to say, all of them so far), let alone 100% or "platinum." So of course I will eventually make my way through all/much/most of this.
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 28 October 2021 18:45 (four years ago)
Weird he seemingly couldn't stop from playing so cheaply. I intentionally didn't bother learning much about how to best level up, do "quickhacks", and all that, and combat stayed reasonably challenging. But of course I can't say that's "playing it right", either. Also he played a lot when the game was still super broken. The rogue taxis stuff was one of my favourite bits of the game and was mostly busted for Tim.The game itself is barely the point at all of course. If you are thinking about playing it before watching the video, I'd say don't bother!
― maf you one two (maffew12), Thursday, 28 October 2021 18:51 (four years ago)
Part 3 literally spoils every ending in the game so if that matters don't watch it.
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Thursday, 28 October 2021 18:53 (four years ago)
I like the "good time hat" idea, that's pretty much how I try to play. I just play so slowly that luckily I wasn't very far before a lot was fixed.
― maf you one two (maffew12), Thursday, 28 October 2021 18:56 (four years ago)
Somehow of all his claims I find the idea of how many videogames he plays to completion to be the hardest to believe. 4 or 5 versions of Shadowrun? A dozen rodent based 16 bit games? To the end? Really?
― maf you one two (maffew12), Thursday, 28 October 2021 19:00 (four years ago)
belief isn't important to me when watching a tim rogers review, i believe it like i believe bret hart is really working someone's knee. whether it's an exaggeration, a lie or cold hard facts, i'm gonna accept it, because sometimes it's fun to be tricked
