Looks enough like final fantasy tactics, possibly my fave game of all time, that I will likely buy it and perhaps not play it.

Mario 3D world has been enjoyable but not immersive fro me. I may be broken.

its not really supposed to be immersive like odyssey, its diorama style (except mauybe the new bowsers fury thing)

recommend going straight into bowsers fiery maw it rules

my favorite thing in 3D World has been to play as cat suit Peach in 1-1, run to the top of the ramp near the beginning, run and jump off of it, float and then cat-dive directly into the clear pipe, then run back and do it again. kind of an immersive experience in the sense that it makes me feel like a kid at a playground

bowsers fury is pretty cool kind of a mix between 3d world and odyssey, unusual thing to make, its a small mario game that has all the qualities of a big mario game, riding the dino is super sweet

KM I urge you to consider the 8bitdo Sn30 Pro+ Controller it is incredible and maybe better than the Nintendo pro controller which I also have and love. And it is cheaper. Battery life has been great.

might want to hold off on that as they just announced the 8BitDo Pro 2, adds two paddle buttons and 3 switchable profiles for the same price

does the 8bitdo have gyro aim? thats a major consideration if youre planning to play like splatoon or any other shooters. otherwise yeah i've heard good things

the pro+ does, afaik the only downsides next to the pro is no scanner and no turning the console on remotely. the upside is analogue sticks that won't fall apart as fast, or hopefully never

are there tolerable third party joy-cons? mine drift and the thought of paying nintendo money to replace broken nintendo items is galling

(i know there's a replacement program i just haven't gotten my shit together to do it yet)

i'd say there are, but after a month my third party joy-con started to drift, grrrrrrrrrrr

seriously, between that and my ps4 being louder than a 747, i've been doing 99% of my recent gaming on my coputer. fuck that driftin noise

and yes, it's called my coputer, we are reversing mitosis

the replacement program is pretty easy and painless, I sent each of my joy-cons in (months apart) and each time got it back from Nintendo in like 2 weeks, no charge

I skipped MH World due to being burned out after MH4 and Generations, so am excited to explore all the QoL improvements and stuff to do in Rise. not sure how I feel about numbers popping up when you attack tho.

also have always been a dual blades player so want to try another weapon this time, suggestions welcome.

this game looks really nice for a switch game, best environment design i've seen on the platform since xenoblade 2 and it's probably a step up from that

i'm leaning toward dual blades but haven't tried everything yet

anyone else playing monster hunter rise? it's my first one, and the grind is ON

i started it up the other day and did the tutorial stuff but haven't had a chance to jump back in yet

i've tried dual blade, lightbow, and the hammer so far. each a pretty expected tradeoff from the other. looking forward to dabbling in some of the more complicated weapons before honing in on a few for the rest of the game.

i say the knowing all too well that i'm in the 10-15 hour honeymoon phase where i think i will play this forever. but i have to say, i appreciate the focus to the game. there is no real "story", i'm just gradually killing stronger monsters. this is what i want.
