cool. I may check it out. I want three clears as fast I can get. My normal is either Okoye, iHulk, 5Strange or 5Belova, or Apoc + 5Thor + whatever.

I just had an easy run to 1000 in pvp with the loaned throg, with Apoc + 5Thor (or BRB + Kitty for iHulk teams, which are a cakewalk with that team). Throg's blue is nice for deleting big hits!

5* Banner sucks but him boosted + 5* Carnage is funny

Haha i will try it. My banner is one cover from champed and I guess at some point I leveled him to 405? So he’s buffed to like 500

Also I champed Heimdall lol. Scorpion next as I drew the 13th cover yesterday. Then Throg is the only 4* to go

Heimdall + Shuri is madness when it works; I like using his blue (6 AP) to highlight 3 red, which drops Shuri's red to 5 AP; I fire that and then EVERY power (including Heimdall's blue) has its cost reduced by 3 AP (while slowing down the enemy team by bumping all of its powers up by 3 AP), which puts you on the path to spamming Heimdall's blue to keep power cost cheap and yellow to get free green AP from Shuri, which can then fuel any given green power that will eventually get its cost lowered to 3 AP from all of the fortified tiles (oh hey 5* Thor, what's up), plus you get free damage from Shuri for each fortified tile you end up matching. If things get hairy, you can target the biggest problem with Shuri's green which, if there are enough fortified tiles on the board, will likely hit one and stun the bastard.

yeah I've been using him in shield sim with Apocalypse & 5Thor, using his blue to drop Apoc's red & win very fast. Heimdall is a tank too so it must be annoying to have to deal with him & Apoc without getting nuked, and also annoying to leave 5Thor for last as you normally do in order to avoid his ap gen. at this point Heimdall won't be useful outside of pick 3 but if a new 5* emerges that really exploites charged tiles, then wheeeeee

I have 12 covers on 5DP now & enough shards to have the 13th in his next PVE spin. people seem to think he's meh but his blue with Okoye is super annoying

I find 5DP's red is better than people think it is due to the stun/self-sustainability

huh I haven't even looked at his red! I was excited about the black at first since that's a killer power on 4Ghost Rider (a team-up my alliance asks for all the time, it's a get-out-of-jail free card, like 3DP whales). But on playing him it was blue that was adding up. He's not gonna be a top char, so you look at how he can complement your A team & that blue is nice for that.

Speaking of which, 5* Yelena is excellent in PVE. I use her with Okoye & iHulk against tile-matching teams, and 5Strange against bots, for similar effects.

I agree that blue is 5DP's killer power, just adding that if you have a red-heavy board, his red is better than advertised due to its stun and the likelihood you can keep respawning the cooldown by matching it.

I want to champ 5* Yelena very badly, even at 2/2/3 she is good at punishing the AI (esp with Okoye boosting her damage)

Yeah my 2/1/2 Yelena is one of my most used.

Silk is very good, possibly rivaling Polaris in 4* world

Her SHIELD Training was ludicrously easy, I got through the 2nd and 3rd day 5* nodes with everyone at full health

She does play well!

I will champ 5Deadpool tomorrow. He’s ok.

I’ve been back to playing this thing in 2021 after playing approximately a month per year for.... way too long

He's considered terrible, but I love him, he saves you a ton of health pack is he can just stand in front and tank

I think people are going to find they've underrated 5* Phoenix Cyclops if/when they run into people playing him with Prof X/Onslaught

I was running that combo in his PvP and coming out of matches virtually unscathed; the cascades made it easy to call Cyke's green and yellow, both of which made Prof/Onslaught even more of a nightmare to deal with than they usually are, plus I ended up with enough red to get rolling repeaters out there stealing at least 1 green from the board every turn

He's not going to dominate the meta but he's better than garbage

My main SS team is Apoc / Onslaught / BRB or Prof X & I don't see this new Cyclops entering that. I don't think he played a role in my run through his PVP: in pick 2 I use either Okoye / iHulk (base team), or BRB / Kitty (against Okoye / iHulk), or Apoc / Onslaught (against Polaris or any other 4 star since there's almost always a match 4+ the first move & so the 4 star is an auto down). None of those teams needed 5Cyclops, and he did no mentionable damage to me either in my usual run to 1000.

I champed Throg a couple of days ago. When looking for him in my roster to champ I saw Silk, who'd I'd completely forgotten about.

I've managed to get both Bruce Banner & Daredevil to 4-4-4 through shards, & 5 Mags to 4-4-4 through LL (gotta stop drawing them, he is not good). I still have to champ 5Black Widow, Doc Ock & Black Bolt, each at 13 covers.

How's your Okoye? I think her boost on Sabretooth makes him excellent. But maybe he stands well apart from her too?

The forums are lit up with people angry about people using phone emulators on desktop/computers to speed up the game and improve their clear times on PvE. While that does seem to be cheating, I also just don't care even a little bit? Progression exists for a reason, lord knows I devote enough time already to this game.

Well.. if they're using bots to play the game for them I could see the issue

They should just let all players speed up the game.

I showed it to my partner and he said "oh, this is that game you play all the time; this looks so much better" so I am beginning to suspect my initial dislike is being driven by a non-negligible amount of "change is bad"

Several colorblind/visually impaired friends have said they can't play anymore because they can't see the board properly. It's weird that they push such a big change without consulting accessibility people.

in particular i don't like 1. board dimming during enemy turn, it's too dark and 2. all gems being too dark, and having a center dark gradient which makes it harder to read the symbols. some tiles stand out better than others, at least. maybe i'll get used to it

Two extremely fun simulator teams I picked up from the forums:

Apocalypse
Domino
Magik

Every power cast, Magik puts protects on the board with subsequent casts also fortifies them and Domino’s power increases the likelihood of black dropping, which means that if you can play your cards right Apocalypse can multicast black on fortified protects multiple times, some of which will refortify. Get his yellow out first and cast Domino’s green for extra fun.

Black Bolt/5torm

Passive charged tiles + Adam’s ramped-up match damage + America’s crits = mayhem. Chase yellow and purple to heal Adam as he tanks. I like 5torm because she also fuels Adam’s AOE and can also drain black AP if he is AOEing himself to death.

Also from the forums, someone took the BRB/Polaris winfinite engine and subbed in 1* Juggernaut instead of 4* Thanos and it’s hilariously reliable

Apoc/Dom/Magic sounds awesome. BB/5torm team needs that particular power leveled to work but sounds good
How does that Jugg swap work?

In the traditional BB/Polaris/used to be 5* Marvel but now is 4* Thanos, you match BB's protects to generate blue and green and let Polaris duplicate them, then when you get 12 green you use Thanos to blow up half the board and get buckets of AP and shields in response, starting a winfinite chain.

1* Juggernaut does a similar thing but his power only costs 6 green, letting you start much sooner and recover faster if you miss blowing up shields on the first cast.

that's sick. Love seeing a combo that actually uses a underpowered roster slot!
